Dec 28th 2010 1:41PM Some additions/clarifications to BRC heroic bosses:
Rom'ogg Bonecrusher: When he casts quake, everyone should move out of the patches of shaking ground that show up under them. They tick for 8-9k, then erupt with the adds coming out dealing 15-30k. DPS shouldn't need to worry about the adds, tank should pick them up, hold them near the boss, and then when the chains are broken, stun or slow them (earthbind totem?) and they get caught in the boss's skullcracker and die. (there's even an achievement for this)
Corla: Beams should be properly managed and should never have a dragonkin spawn. Dark Command should be interrupted, and as a shaman you can drop Grounding Totem to eat any Dark Command that gets off, avoiding the unnecessary fear.
Karash: He doesn't continually pulse aoe damage, he only does a pulse when he gains a stack of his debuff from the lava. He does not continue to pulse until it wears off. If the debuff is allowed to wear off, the grated area around him erupts with fire that hurts (no one should be standing on the grate) and 3 fire elemental adds spawn. DPS should grab these and kill them far away from the tank because they spawn lava pools when killed that act just like the lava pillar.
Beauty: Her pups can and should be CC'ed (as many as possible). Hex works, but seems to break early for resto shamans. Runty does not join the fight, he stays in the back of the cave.
Dec 21st 2010 3:30PM Another excellent article Frost, always enjoy reading your stuff. Question for ya: Do you think they're going to follow through on changing back our Crit Meta any time soon? And in the meantime, what do you recommend for gems?
Glinting Demoneyes in red and blue sockets, with one Piercing Dream Emerald (crit/hit) in a blue socket to keep the blues > reds balance? (And keeping with the Deadly Ember Topaz for yellow sockets)
Dec 2nd 2010 9:58AM Since the vendors with the 346 JP gear are already in place, wouldn't it be worth buying a piece and knocking yourself below the cap, so any additional JP you would have earned doesn't get wasted?
Think I'd go with the chest first, since it doesn't have any real competition except a likely expensive leatherworking crafted 333.
Oct 12th 2010 12:34PM From what I remember reading a post on the wow forums, multi monitor support amounts to a dropdown box you can use to specify the monitor you want wow to appear fullscreen on. Hardly anything worth getting excited about unfortunately.
Feb 1st 2010 12:18PM It's simple common courtesy to simply ask the group "mind if I need that for offspec?" before rolling on a piece of gear that doesn't benefit the role you signed up for. Otherwise you've got no right to complain about a tank that need rolls on your dps upgrades either even if you've run said heroic for 14 days straight waiting for your two-handed axe of uberness to drop. Queue times as dps are a problem, however, if you're building a tank set, they're also an opportunity. Go quest! There's plenty of upgrades out there from various chest chains that can gear up a new tank well enough for them to be able to start tanking normals and even some heroics. Plus the extra gold from questing at 80 is more than enough to let you buy several pieces of tank gear off the AH.
Feb 1st 2010 12:01PM If you're going into Ony 10 looking for gear, try and get yourself the Reclaimed Thunderstrike by rolling on the Reclaimed Shadowstrike, not only is it two weapons in one, both are perfect for a feral druid. Even if you lose the roll on the Shadowstrike, with the 2hr trade window that's available you might be able to talk the winner of Shadowstrike (assuming they're not another feral druid) into trading you Shadowstrike and letting you use the charge off it to create Thunderstrike for your tank set and then trading Shadowstrike back to them. If you do win the roll on Shadowstrike you get a great set of feral tank and feral dps weapons.
Jan 25th 2010 10:41AM Does Distracting Shot have the threat component of a normal taunt? The patch notes from when it was changed last imply that it only has the taunt effect, not the threat effect.
