Around Azeroth: Cuatro caballeros mas otro {WoW}

Nov 8th 2010 11:15AM This made me laugh...

Oye guapo, te voy a partir como un lapiz acere! No me importa un carajo si eres Lich King! No creo en nadie!

P.S. Yes, I'm Cuban but not off the raft... I don't talk like that. I'm actually ashamed of myself right now for butchering the language...

Cataclysm beta: New raid markers {WoW}

Cataclysm beta: New raid markers {WoW}

Nov 7th 2010 10:14PM These aren't the markers you place over people's heads. These are markers that you can place anywhere on the ground. They're currently on live, and you can use them if you're leader of main assist, but they used to look like normal engineer flares. Now the're these glowing columns.

World of Warcraft community site preview now live {WoW}

Nov 5th 2010 2:59PM Removing the OT is going to be a problem for the moderators. People are going to post off topic things whether there's a designated area or not. However with a designated area, at least most of those who wish to post off topic threads will go there first.

However all moderation issues aside, the OT has built friendships and has had amazing discussion on things like politics, medicine, science, and religion. The OT was always interesting in the sense that it was one of the few forums out there where you can actually see knowledgeable people talking about subjects they know about not only in a serious way but sometimes in a friendly manner. Sure sometimes there was a lot of flaming but most of the time what you saw were people who expressed opinions and gave lots of facts. I've personally learned a lot from the OT.

Needless to say, I'm sad to see it go. I'm sure they'll go back on this decision.

The Queue: Talbuk surfing {WoW}

Nov 5th 2010 11:18AM "...and that's when I bought the horse a prostitute,".

"I love this guy!".

WoW Insider Show Episode 166: We interrupt this broadcast ... {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2010 10:36PM I like how at one point Sacco and Rossi are like "OK Mat... Shut up now... We've already seen this on the PTR." then they just give up and let him ramble on.

The Shattering hits The New York Times best-seller list {WoW}

Nov 1st 2010 6:22PM I was just about to post something similar to this. I hope that things like this will make people realize that World of Warcraft, and Warcraft in general really, isn't just a game but also a work of art.

People seem to forget that WoW is mostly just an ever expanding piece of literature with a very enticing and well made visual element.

Spiritual Guidance: Beta patch 13221 and holy priests {WoW}

Nov 1st 2010 7:54AM I'm here to further establish Dawn's dominion over the Monday morning boom. Take that Fox!

But seriously though I really like your column, Dawn. I don't play a priest at max level myself but as a raid leader it's pretty helpful to know the capabilities and issues of other classes, especially the healers, and your posts run through these simply enough that an outsider can understand while detailed enough that I don't feel like I'm missing out on information.

Keep up the great work. Oh an also, if you start SC2 Insider/SC2 Insider Show I would definitely read it/listen to it.

WoW Insider Show Episode 165: Post-post BlizzCon {WoW}

Oct 31st 2010 11:10PM I also agree. The little button was convenient and was a nice player but if you just click the mp3 link it'll open in your browser with a different little player so you can stream it just like you could before. Not too big a deal and if it makes life a bit easier for you guys then I guess I can afford a click.

Breakfast Topic: Oops, I've been acting like an elitist jerk {WoW}

Oct 25th 2010 8:24AM I think nearly everyone has had the experience in which they just have an outburst over nothing going right and that you're wasting your time. Suddenly you feel that your time and skill is greater than theirs and that's just where elitism starts. I can be accused of it at least once recently during Sindragosa during the first couple months of ICC's release and, like most that aren't usually like this, I regretted it. It's just not myself. Fortunately my friends and group forgave me for the display and reconciled that we all feel the same way sometimes. After that we came up with a new strategy and that relied on our strengths and got her down.

I always try to be helpful in most situations and always try to be supportive of those with less experience. As the officer of our guild it's important for me to show that stupid little things like elitism won't get to me but sometimes it's hard especially when the only thought going through your mind in the raid is "if x healer or x tank or x dps was here we would have finished this by now.

I feel that no one should ignore their experience or abilities if they have them and can use them to help other people understand but the important thing is to not come off as arrogant. As long as you can figure out how to offer advice respectfully and without belittling then elitism will disappear on its own.
