Microsoft confirms rootkit caused Windows XP blue screens {Engadget}

Feb 20th 2010 12:13AM I've been seeing this happening for a while, especially for laptops. The rootkit attaches itself to IaStor.sys, the Intel AHCI driver and blue screens the machine, at least its a simple replacement of the driver and all is well again (pending a scan for anything else the user still has lingering)

Potential character model revisions in Cataclysm {WoW}

Nov 24th 2009 8:41PM All I have to say is this:

That is a gorgeous new model they have given Jaina, I would love my female paladin to have a model like that... then again I also wish she could walk up stairs...

For a while I swear the climbing stairs thing was fixed but it seems like it happens again. (not sure if this is model related or environment related)

Breakfast Topic: The You that you can't leave behind {WoW}

Sep 5th 2009 1:50PM I almost feel the same way, my first toon was a male paladin that I played for a couple years. Then I rerolled on a PvP server and made a female paladin, since then I've been playing her all the time.

I took her to the barber shop to check out the new hairstyles and couldn't find anything that I liked better then the plain old pony tail. I had to change it for the achievement then change it right back.

Engadget's recession antidote: win one of 100 Microsoft Windows 7 pre-order discount codes! {Engadget}

Jun 25th 2009 5:01PM its time for me to finally let windows 2000 and XP go, I skipped vista because I was one of those crazies who really just could not get it to work properly, but I must say I love 7...

The Midsummer Fire Festival has begun {WoW}

Jun 21st 2009 2:27PM You aren't given a quest to collect the opposing faction's city flames, when you interact with those fires you get an item in your bag that starts the quest. I did UC and Silvermoon last year but the event despawned while I was flying back with my TB and Org ones.

I handed the TB and Org ones in this year, recaptured the silvermoon one and it is still recorded as complete. I grabbed the UC one and it had reset, I was able to hand it in. It appears this year you only need to do TB/Org/UC or SW/IF/Darn, at least if you did Silvermoon/Exodar last year then those two did not reset yearly like the first three did.

Video: NVIDIA's ION-based netbooks and nettops are go for launch {Engadget}

Apr 2nd 2009 4:16PM The VIA Artigo kit which also uses pico-itx boards can be mounted in a 5.25" drive bay, if you compare the case with ION's case they are almost identical, so in theory this could be mounted in a drive bay also.

[EDITED] Patch 3.0.2 primer for Protection Paladins {WoW}

Oct 16th 2008 9:14PM Improved Hammer of Justice and Divine Guardian? Skip them both. Most bosses are immune to stuns...

True yes, but you linked the old version of the spell.
Now Hammer of Justice will interrupt casting for 3 seconds (and yes this was designed to work on bosses too). While there should be plenty of others to interrupt spells from bosses its still something to look at, perhaps put points into it once you start leveling.

Caption This! {WoW}

Oct 8th 2008 7:40PM You forgot to bring your mask Pinkey! It's OK we still love you.

Breakfast Topic: How do you distribute 5-man loot? {WoW}

Mar 16th 2008 8:45AM On Draenor (US) I've seen it both ways, it seems to depend on the group. I personally find the pass before looting system strange. If you need it, need it. If something is left DE it, roll on shard.

Though we're talking 5-mans here I then think to kara+ and it's the same deal pass on everything (when master loot is forgotten)

Enter to win a Spectral Tiger Mount from WoW Insider! {WoW}

Jul 25th 2007 10:13PM Could be just the thing I need to keep playing this game.
