Breakfast Topic: Is Cataclysm tanking getting easier and easier? {WoW}

Feb 25th 2012 6:18PM Our 25 (H) Hagara strategy for focused assaults involves intervenes, heroic leaps, as well as lifegrips. I don't think we've made it easy on our tank at all.

That being said, in 5 mans it's really the easiest job in WoW to do correctly right now. And keep in mind, I'm saying that when every healer has some way to coast through a heroic effortlessly with ease (here's to you, Healing Stream and Riptide!)

Breakfast Topic: I found a tol'vir rare... oh, no {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 10:32AM I try to do at least an hour of Archaeology a night, usually right before raid in hopes of getting those juicy Tol'Vir rares.

Ugh, I just have the scarab jar so far.

Breakfast Topic: Be honest -- did you make it over the Wailing Caverns jump? {WoW}

Feb 20th 2012 10:26AM Just the other week I was LFD running Wailing and the jump came up. It felt like they made it easier and that with any +movement increase you could just walk over the edge and let momentum do your work.

Regardless, the tank fell and immediately left the group. We all had a good laugh.

DCUO's Battle for Earth pack spells the final confrontation with Braniac {Massively}

Feb 15th 2012 4:14PM I missed the last 3x Station Cash holiday (which was really just a day), but the next time I catch one in my inbox, I'm definitely going to drop $10 and buy the three DLC packs. I really enjoyed the game on release and thought it was a fantastic distraction from more "srs" games like WoW and with the extra population from the F2P conversion I think it's in a great position to keep that job. Unfortunately, as a Premium (once monthly), I think I get just 6 slots, which means that plenty of my 30s are going to get deleted. Oh well, it takes hardly a week of casual play to cap out in DCUO either way.

Totem Talk: 5 ways to look like a bad restoration shaman {WoW}

Feb 14th 2012 4:45PM Are these "5 ways to improve" class posts being prearranged to be equally useless? Could have easily just thrown down a few simple Resto Shaman rules to not get you raged out of LFR: Drop Totems, Keep 3 Riptides up if you can, Keep Earth Shields up (and arrange ES targets if you have more than one Shaman!), keep your finger off of Healing Surge except in moments of extreme emergency, and actually spec into Telluric Currents and learn how to regen (this one, I find, far too many pugs don't know how to do). There, five.

The Daily Quest: No BlizzCon makes us sad pandaren {WoW}

Jan 27th 2012 9:34AM What will Jay Mohr do for a year without a paycheck?

Creating a new world: 38 Studios discusses the formation of Amalur's IP {Massively}

Jan 27th 2012 9:28AM The leveling system showed a surprising amount of depth for a game that quite obviously intends for the consoles to be the prime focus. I also always appreciate a game where I can play an elf with a massive 1910's strongman mustache. The negatives I felt were that the lockpicking system felt like it wanted to purposely be different than Bethesda-style, but felt far more shallow and that while it acts like a "casual solo mmo" in every other aspect, the herb/reagent gathering felt awful because you could actually fail to pick anything up.

I won't be preordering, but I'll likely keep an eye on it a year from release when sales might drop it under $20.

Breakfast Topic: What is WoW's most lucrative profession? {WoW}

Jan 23rd 2012 2:26PM I make more than I should from Engineering, but it's certainly not any high roller levels of gold, and it's very sensitive to additional people coming into the market since anyone with enough interest to "buy in" and craft items has just as much opportunity to do so. The only way I can rationally compete with those who try to horn in is to diversify my alts and empty so much inventory on their heads that they decide the market isn't worth competing in. The gold people make from Jewelcrafting, however, makes me sad that I don't have one right now.

Drama Mamas: The etiquette of AFKing in a group or raid {WoW}

Jan 9th 2012 4:18PM If you can't be there for 30 minutes or so for a dungeon and at least an hour for LFR, don't queue. My least favorite thing is a tank, who gets an instant queue anyways, to queue for a 5-man, get in the dungeon, and say "AFK 5 Minutes." You're a tank, you get instant queues, just queue five minutes later. Everyone else has been sitting in queue and every minute of their time you waste is a minute that they could have gotten a non-AFK tank. That being said, I used to answer the door and sign for pizza and whatnot during ICC all while juggling an overexcited dog that wanted to be the pizza guy (or girl!)'s best friend, and I know it was bad, but I would never do it on anything but extremely farmable content like ICC25(H) became in the back stretch of WotLK.
