Jun 3rd 2010 4:23AM Rather than buying out ALL of a item, buy out enough so that it's not profitable any more.
For example, on Enchanting scrolls it's easy.
There's generally 30-50 abyss crystals from 20-40 gold on the AH. I buy them all up to 40g (Generally have an average unit cost of ~28g) and leave the rest, because over 40g is way overpriced.
Then I make a few enchant scrolls: Berserking, Black Magic, Powerful Stats, Staff - Greater Spellpower to use some of them up.
I then sell them with a clear pricing strategy.
Generally people list Berserking for 550-600g which is fairly expensive.
I now list Berserking for 450g, it cost me roughly 360 to make so it's a reasonable profit.
Then I re-list my remaining abyss crystals at 39g.
The great thing here is:
-If people buy the mats for Berserking it costs them over 450g, my buyout price for the scroll, which means 2 things: 1) My scroll sells faster because it looks like a great deal. 2) Nobody can undercut me by buying mats from the AH.
If people buy the crystals I'm still making money.
Of course the crystals get undercut fairly quickly, but the price stays artificially high for at least the evening.
I just wait for the market to go back down and start again. I don't even lose money on AH deposits for the crystals which don't sell.
May 7th 2010 4:36AM Wow how biased was this against rogues? Rogues bring no buffs to the fight. Without having uber dps there would be no reason to bring a rogue to the raid.
There's a lot of unanswered questions here. Perhaps rogues are easier to play? Perhaps the class naturally attracts mix/maxers moreso than others.
I've noticed a lot of elitism amongst rogues on forums "lolz your spec is wrong, go away" type comments/attitudes. Moreso than other classes in my experience. Perhaps this drives more rogues to "the one true spec" and make them more likely to gear/gem/enchant correctly?
Apr 26th 2010 11:49AM I'm in a 10 man raiding guild, but I generally pug ICC25
Imagine if ICC was like this:
-Less emblems each wee
-Less chances at 1337 EPICS!!!
I do like the idea of less, smaller raids though.

Apr 13th 2010 4:13AM I sure hope they do remove School of Hard Knocks from the meta... I hate pvp at the best of times. Having to do such specific things is annoying at best. If I don't get my drake because of it i'm going to QQ because childrens week is the only one I have left to do.
Apr 1st 2010 4:33AM Can someone help me with the maths for prospecting?
If a gem prospects for example, fel iron:
18% Blood Garnet (1-2)
18% Deep Peridot (1-2)
18% Flame Spessarite (1-2)
How do I work out the projected prospecting value?
Lets, for the sake of argument say that:
-Fel iron costs 5g for 5 to prospect
-Each Gem sells for 1g at the AH
Do I do (1*0.18)+(1*0.18)+(1*0.18) to work out the average propsecting price?
That makes sense but it would also be useful to know:
-The maximum possible profit
-The minimum possible profit
I'm trying to make a spreadsheet that I plug current AH values into and it works out what to prospect and how much i'm likely to make (if any)
Mar 30th 2010 9:16AM Ðøøm casually tosses his [Worn Troll Dice].
Mar 26th 2010 9:14AM I enjoy going to ravenholdt if I want to be alone. It's a nice calming place and not too far from Undercity that makes it annoying to get to.
I also pick up the Gnoming Cloaking device schematic while i'm there. It usually sells for 50-70 on the AH.
Mar 17th 2010 8:18AM I play a rogue as my main.. they rock! Easily the best class in the game.
I hate playing casters... not being able to move and attack irks me. I like to be able to run around while killing stuff... I guess it's why I like my rogue so much. Having to wait to attack also annoys me.
Mar 1st 2010 11:57AM Obviously not :P
Before Firefox it was called Firebird... before that it was Phoenix.
Anyway, a browser helps with security, but the majority of viruses come in flaws in the abomination that is Flash.
