Mar 30th 2012 11:48AM There were a TON of profession recipes scattered around on vendors and also available as rep-based rewards from the various factions. Make sure you check every town in every zone and all of the rep vendors. You're probably missing an "obvious" craftable that isn't obvious since you aren't leveling as slowly as we used to.
Mar 28th 2012 11:56AM I need to start reading Thieves World again. I think I read 3-4 books way back when - and that was just a fraction of the work available. IIRC, the only rule the authors had (since they all used the same settings and could borrow characters) was that there were no rules. If someone killed off one of your characters, you could bring yours back to life and kill off one of theirs. It was really good stuff.
Mar 28th 2012 11:54AM Near the end of Wrath, when everyone I knew was doing things like rolling alts, having cross-faction fun, etc. I queued up as dps on a paladin and got Violet Hold. Our tank managed to get locked out prior to the start. Unfortunately for him, he was a DK - and didn't help debunk the impression that everyone had about idiotic DK tanks.
The WORST I've ever heard of - from a guildmate, was when he was leveling through the BC areas and got a DK tank who zoned in and immediately proceeded to yell "I HAS A BIG SWORD". And had resurrection sickness.
Mar 27th 2012 12:11PM But right now, it's all just placeholders.
You could just as easily see a quest that says "kill 10 boars, turn in" but the final version is the extensive quest text we all know. All they have to have in the beta, especially at this point, is just enough information for the players to know what to do. They'll fix it later - right now they're too busy with, well, EVERYTHING, to worry about fixing stuff. (Plus, don't forget, they have to clean it up eventually to send it off to all the localization teams for translation.)
Mar 23rd 2012 12:30PM I bought the annual pass because I couldn't forsee my NOT playing WoW for the next 12 months. Sure, I've taken a break but I'm still going to get D3 and I'm going to get my beta access. As others have said, anyone who bought it is going to get into the beta, they just need to understand how things work.
Sure, Blizzard could have invested in a TON of hardware and set up more beta servers up front - but that's pretty risky especially given that they have to find something to do with those once the beta is over.
Mar 22nd 2012 3:54PM I want to see BM hunters get their ENTIRE stable to come charging out - not just the "current" 5 pets. (Honestly, I'd settle for just 10 or 12 or something, just so it's not too broken.)
Mar 22nd 2012 1:00PM I think it was Rades (Orcish Army Knife) who posted that one of the Sha concept art pieces waaaay back from Blizzcon looked a lot like the some of the stained glass windows around Yogg-Saron.
Found the post: http://www.orcisharmyknife.com/2011/10/meet-new-races-of-pandariaespecially.html (it's near the end)
Mar 22nd 2012 12:56PM When we get to the end of the Garrosh raid (T16?), are we going to pull off his mask and find out that he's actually Old Man Smithers?
Mar 22nd 2012 12:53PM I would assume that you'd see it on your list of active games. I think that's where the folks in my guild (lucky bums) who got in found it.
And yes, I wouldn't trust any email with a link but instead, if I saw one, I'd then log in to my battle.net account to verify and grab the download from there.
