Feb 16th 2012 1:23AM Def agree with the concerns about prot warrior. Prot was amazing in Wrath - fast, explosive, and highly mobile. But the rage normalization slowed it down a smidge, and the direction they're going in Mists looks like it's taking even more of the fun out of it.

Sometimes I wonder if the devs even play their own game anymore. Stop fixing what ain't broken! :(

Super Daredevil Kick
Cost: 100 Rage
Cooldown: 1 week

Leap through the air and smash any single target to bits. Can be a player, an NPC, a mount, a building, a raid boss, Ice Crown Citadel, Tempest Keep, anything. Cannot be avoided, reflected, or stopped in any way. Targets hit by Super Daredevil Kick take one week to respawn, or in the case of players, to be able to relog.

Oct 29th 2011 8:36PM Great writeup. I do hope the loss of Intercept won't decrease Prot's mobility noticeably. Discovering Warbringer was the reason my Prot war became my main. Though it will be interesting to experiment with Bladestorm and Avatar, and some of the other things previously only available to Fury or Arms, while tanking...

Oct 28th 2011 4:10PM Best way to learn tanking is roll a new level 1, and tank all the way to level cap. From 1 to 15, spec tank, gear tank, and play like a tank. From 15 on (or whatever the min level to dungeon queue is), always be in the dungeon queue when you're online.

It's much easier to start as a tank at low levels, than to start tanking for your first time at lvl 80/85/90. Dungeons are easier, fights are simple, you have fewer abilities to wrap your head around or remember during combat, etc. etc.

Oct 22nd 2011 3:24PM It's probably been moved to either class ability or spec ability. We're only seeing one third of the talent trees, Bliz hasn't shown any screens or details yet of the spec chooser or list of class abilities.

Oct 22nd 2011 5:15AM You still get nukes, just as base abilities instead of as talents. So far we've only seen 1/2 of the class system, the talent tree. No details or screenshots yet on the other half, the class specializations and their base abilities.

Sep 7th 2011 3:01AM Frost tanking was so explosive. BAM! Howling Blast multi-crit, BAM! Blood Boil, WHOOSH! drop a D&D, POW! Obliterate Obliterate Frost Strike crits, BAM! HB again, POW! Blood Boil, repeat.

There was no futzing about with Plague Slap and Pestilence, or Rune Tetris, and runes recovered faster back then. It was sooo much fun.

I finished off Wrath as a Blood Tank and did enjoy the self-healing, but now the only tank with the explosiveness of old Frost is Prot War, and that's my main now.

Aug 20th 2011 11:06PM >and Frost tanking was considered worse than Blood. It was as if there was only one definite tanking tree that you could go to, otherwise you'd be handicapping yourself.

In that regard I found it even worse. Frost was superior for 5mans because of its amazing snap AoE threat (DnD + glyphed HB + BB). It made tanking randoms with trigger-happy dps so much less painful that it was essentially required as an offspec.

But Frost was inferior to Blood's survivability in raids, so you had to have a Blood main spec for raid boss duty. Which meant if you wanted to PvP or let some other guildies tank and take a dps role some nights, you had to respec and reglyph (which got pretty expensive, esp for some glyphs on the AH).

So yeah, having retired my DK (primarily for other reasons, but I can't say I don't miss that dual tank spec problem), I'd really rather not see warriors go down that tried and not-true road now.
