Aug 27th 2010 9:29AM Female here, and when I was in the original beta for like, 2 weeks I fell in love with my druid. It was probably a mix of being only 11 and a love for the shapeshifting idea & cats. xD When I eventually joined a year later, I tried all the classes available to me at the time and stuck with a hunter making more alts over other servers. When I came back from a break, I debated against my hunter or my ~25 druid on Greymane. Ended up playing my Druid as my main, and that sticks till this day (Feral/Feral -> Feral/Resto).
For me, this is how classes go in terms of love/played time. Druid/Hunter > DK/Shaman > Priest > Mage/Paladin > Warrior/Rogue > Warlock
The last three I've barely played, but I've never had a large interest in Warlocks, and Warriors & Rogues for me got a little biased after some unpleasant deaths and such. :D
Aug 17th 2010 11:14AM After my trip to the Western Desert of Egypt, Tanaris appeared more than ever like Egypt. Minus the goblins, giant skeletons, silithid...
The Western Desert (The White Desert portion,) features rolling sand dunes and massive orange chalk and rock formations. The rocks and chalk remind me of the rock formations of Tanaris. Of course, the sand dunes help the picture. ;)
STV reminds me of the northern part of the Philippines (up near Subic.) It's very jungle-like, all the monkies, the beaches and the reef-life~ I didn't participate in any fishing contests up there though...
Jun 22nd 2010 2:39PM Hm, I was hoping the RealID would have been slightly more like the interface City of Heroes has had for a long time, where you use a handle and when people "global friend" you they see that handle name, what character you're on, what server and what class. They also have the option for invisibility, so as someone previously mentioned, you can remove the possibility of being disturbed while you don't want to be bothered.
Blizzard added nice touches to it through Battle.net, but I'm not quite sure not having a handle as an option is the best way to go. I personally want a level of anonymity when playing a game, for many of my guildies and good non-guildie friends I don't know in real life, because I met them in game. Many of them don't know my real name (and especially not my email), and even those that do, still call me by a nickname or my main's name. In my opinion, I believe it can work, and I will be using it, but certainly only for select people due to the anonymity/privacy issue present with the implementation of the "RealID".
May 21st 2010 8:10AM I think some people do really miss out on having to work for many things in the game. But to me, that only really applies to newer players. Many 80s have leveled up so many characters that the ease of getting them at 20, 40 & 60 loosened the leveling-load that they had to deal with.
Personally though, I'm going to try and resist buying mounts for my Goblins/Worgen until the appropriate "classic" level. Yes, I do indeed have a deathwish by boredom. ;)
Apr 10th 2010 1:06PM Pokemon. Hells yeah. Working on leveling up my Pokemon while figuring out a good proper (PvP) battle team and I haven't even gotten up to Red yet.
Mar 22nd 2010 11:15AM Thank you for writing this up! I recently switched to Disc for the level 70-80 (Or whenever I get better gear) jump at the advice of a friend. Very helpful in trying to figure out exactly how I should be healing (Which of course is never set in stone, but the needed spells that should always be up and such.)
Mar 12th 2010 2:30PM Lok'tar probably would have been a good term for "shake," imo.
Mar 11th 2010 1:41PM It's probably actually easier to figure out when typing rather than listening. I have experience with being exposed to multiple languages and have figured out that finding specfic patterns only in that language helps a lot. One of the easiest ones in my opinion would be Korean versus Chinese or Japanese as Korean has a number of circles in some of their characters which the other two languages do not. Spanish uses pronouns like Yo while French uses Je (Both referring to "I") Etc, etc.
Perhaps this isn't the way for you, but I have found in my ~7 years of living overseas, that finding patterns/learning a few words of a language really helps in determining which language it might be. Many of the languages that don't use the Roman Alphabet make it far easier, while someone who only speaks English for example and wasn't even exposed to another language might have trouble with the other Latin-based languages as well as the Germanic ones. Hope this helps. ^^;
Mar 11th 2010 1:27PM Need some Greek love! People I know who would play on EU servers would find them regularly on two different servers and even got a funny story out of telling one once in Greek, "I don't speak Greek." And having them continue on in Greek to him. xD;
Feb 20th 2010 8:08AM I can't wait for all the lore-intensive stuff. Ruby Sanctum, Gnomer and all that other lovely stuff.
