Jan 8th 2010 2:11AM Yeah, that looks comfortable... NOT!
Jan 11th 2009 4:30AM Yeah, I picked up the hardcover version at Blizzcon 08, and I'm not sorry that I did either. The book with it's slipcase is a work of art itself. The version I have also included several art prints, some of which are beautiful enough that I plan to frame and mount on my wall. It also came with a very short but awesome story booklet that tells of the fall of Sindragosa. In short, if you like fantasy art or 'Making of' books you should run out and get this right now.
Dec 15th 2008 2:52PM I'm fairly certian that most of the 'your article is a waste of time and space' comments here are from people who themselves have profited off of the misfourtune of others. There are so many people in the game who wouldn't know ethics from a cheese danish, or would sell their morality for said danish.
Allison, you're probably one of the most well spoken, intelligent and honest writers wowinsider has. Your commentary on Death Knight tanking has been something I've linked to the up and coming DKs many times as most of them have never played a melee or taking class before. This article has notched up my respect for you even more. Please keep up the good work.
Dec 15th 2008 10:57AM I have almost all of the blue items on this list with the higher defense rating on them other than the Wyrmrest chest peice and the Argent Dawn helm enchant (and the chest enchant, which I'll be getting tonight) and I still only have 500 defense. I'm kind of pesimistic about the odds of those last few items carying me to 540. Has anyone done the math on this? Can Death Knights even get uncritable pre heroics/Naxx?
Dec 4th 2008 3:36PM Even after the edit I still find this article insulting. I'm in a casual guild of close knit friends that managed to down a good portion of the BC raid content. We haven't started raiding in WotLK yet because we don't have enough 80's yet. The reason for this is that we're contentious of the fact that we're a casual raiding guild and we not only allow but encourage people to progress at their own pace. The real spirit of guild is to have fun and enjoy the content and one another's company.
We know a lot of the hardcore players are whining and bitching about how Wrath is too easy. Honestly, we don't care and are getting a little tired of the less than 5% of the WoW population throwing a temper tantrum and demanding attention from Blizzard like a bunch of spoiled brats. We all know who you are because you remind us at every opportunity you get that you're the self appointed rock stars of WoW. But there's a limit to the amount of condescending bullshit we can put up with. So please, just STFU for a little while and let the rest of us enjoy the game. More than likely you'll get what you want in the end with harder raid content that hasn't been released yet, Blizzard reps have said this on more than one occasion. But like any other spoiled child that's used to getting their way we know all too well how impatient you are.
So really this is a call out to the staff of WoW Insider. Please stop catering to this crowd. I know you claim this is supposed to a satirical look at the new raid content in Wrath, but I call bullshit on that claim because no matter how many times I read it all I see is the same snide and condescending cynicism being echoed by the rest of the "hardcore" community. And to be perfectly honest the quality of the articles here have gone down lately. Posts that I would actually define as useful information are starting to dwindle and are being replaced with the kind of hackery we see above. I think it's high time you guys started to implement some quality control around here and make some kind of decision about whether you want this site to cater to the entire WoW community or dedicate it to a particular segment of the population.
Dec 1st 2008 6:02PM Ok, I hate to be a grammar Nazi here, but one has to wonder when looking at the following sentence if you guys have editors who managed to pass English in high school who even take a cursory glance at what you've written before posting it to the site.
"Very strange, and strange choice by Blizzard to do it this way in the first place."
Come on... this retarded sentence and the rather no brainer mess up on claiming the book could be found on the auction house when the screenshot you posted clearly shows that is a bind on pickup item should lead you folks at WoW Insider to one of two inevitable conclusions. One, if you don't have an editor checking your work before you publish it's time that you got one. Or two, if you do have an editor FIRE HIM OR HER!
I'm sorry to rant about this, but it's a hot issue for me because bloggers the world over are moaning and bitching that they aren't treated like professional journalists when the fact is the large majority refuse to grow up and act like professionals.
Nov 13th 2008 12:27PM gimme!
Nov 12th 2008 11:08AM Bear!
Nov 6th 2008 7:17PM I got to go to Blizzcon because a friend of mine had a spare ticket to sell me, but not one for my wife who got screwed by the failoc. I would love to give her a bear mount.
Nov 6th 2008 7:15PM Why not, I got nothing to loose. Frosty for me too!
