Breakfast Topic: Dealing with unpleasant players {WoW}

Jun 8th 2010 10:26AM Honestly playing FPS aren't as bad as WoW for computers in my opinion. Then again I play Battlefield games and I suppose they would be a lot better than games on Xbox. Overall though, Ive found that the players are willing to help you learn how to use certain vehicles if you really give it a good try and servers are well patrolled for rude people.

Two Bosses Enter: Anub'Arak vs. King Dred {WoW}

Jan 1st 2010 12:54PM I can not imagine Anub being able to pound Dred at all. He is simply not tall enough, and in order to he would need to bring himself onto his back legs leaving himself exposed to an easy attack. Anub's only really strength is that he can burrow and impale.

Big problem here is that he needs to hit Dred directly in his foot and it can not be a glancing glow because his Scales would help to deflect it. This ends up with Anub also hoping that when he strikes Dred foot is not moving upward or he is not already gone. I ASSUME that Anub has little vision as to where he spikes are going also because even when the target moves he continues to spike the same spot but that could just be a game mechanic. Overall I simply dont see Dred as dumb enough to stand over shaking earth. Because he has a low IQ does not mean he is not designed for strat. in a battle or is not able to comprehend shaking ground = something is wrong.

Overall I give Dred the edge simply because once Anub is bleeding the fight is over. Dred only needs one hit to end this, and even if he dies after the one hit it is then a tie. To be honest I see it more as a tie but for the sake of arguement I give Dred the win because he would employ hit and run. Large dinosaurs likely were able to wound their opponent and simply watch them bleed out and let them leave, or they are even considering the Komodo Dragon effect now with bacteria. But I could be wrong so any debate is interesting!

Two Bosses Enter: Anub'Arak vs. King Dred {WoW}

Jan 1st 2010 12:10PM While I agree that Anub should probably be immune to fear lorewise I will have to disagree and say the roar can not be used against him. Undead or no undead the huge roar would at the very least stun or confuse him. We tend to forget that a Dinosaur of that Magnitude would make a noise loud enough to shake Anub at his very core. Noise is an extremely effective weapon, and Bass has been even known to be able to kill by stopping the heart.

Two Bosses Enter: Anub'Arak vs. King Dred {WoW}

Jan 1st 2010 3:10AM I had to think long and hard about this one, but this is how I eventually came about seeing this fight going.

The Lich King sees the assault on Drak'tharon not going as he had predicted. He then decides that now is the best time to call on Anub because he enjoys watching a former king bring another Kingdom to its knees just for the fun of it. Anub makes his way to Dreds pen but has his reinforcements wait in the distance because he believes that a brainless creature like Dred would never stand a chance. He figures this is a great chance for him to hone his skills that had gone to waste sitting in his fallen kingdom.

Anub makes his way toward Dred underground prefering a sneak attack to a straight forward assault. He feels the ground shaking directly above him as he realizes it must be Dred. He strikes out with his first impale but poor timing leads to it merely glancing off of the tough leg scales of the huge Dinosaur as he lifted his foot for his next step. He had not considered that the Armor of the Animal could be this tough. Though not damaging the giant dinosaur it does manage to knock Dred off of his feet, but his feral reflexes give him the speed to grab onto the Impale that had just struck him.

King Dread visciously rips at the appendage with his massive teeth and Anub realizes that he has to move with the shaking of the massive jaws in order to avoid losing the entire appendage and to do this he has to let himself be pulled from the ground. As he does this he realizes he has made a terrible mistake, the Dinosaur was not alone at all either and his raptor "friends" Begin to swarm around him as he is pulled fully from the ground. It is at this point he realizes the folly he has made and accepts the appendage in the massive dinosaurs jaws is an acceptable loss. He cringes as he yanks his body in the opposite direction crushing 2 of the raptors. He immediately pounds another raptor.

Dred becomes enraged as he sees his pack destroyed and lets out a massive roar at point blank range. Anub is stunned for 10 seconds as the vibrations course through his body shaking his internal goey innards. Dred gets back to his feet and immediately applies every bleed he has to Anub. It is at this point Anub knows he has one choice, he immediately burrows back into the ground bleeding profusely, but managing to call every single ally into the battle.

Though there are many adds Dred still has a few of his own. After managing to destroy all of Anubs allies he begins to realize that he himself is more damaged than he realizes. The small bugs that he had thought little about during the battle had begun to slip into his scales causing massive discomfort and he had lost all of his raptors in the assault. It is now him and the missing enemy.

Anub once more tries to impale but Dred is expecting it this time, after all you dont become king by having poor reflexes. But his can not grab a spike this time because that would mean biting down onto them. Anub meanwhile is bleeding more and more with each passing second. He realizes that this battle is over, and he has to return to the Lich King defeated. To continue the battle alone would mean suicide because of the incredible pain he felt.

I personally figured that Anub would never ever die to Dred, but I dont believe that he could beat Dred without a much better strat that what he has shown us. Dred is far to large for pound, and people have severely underestimated the strength of Reptiles Scales. Yes I know Anub has a strong carapace, but im simply assuming that a Dinosaur of that size would have the strength to cut some bleeds into it. I do believe that if Anub were to go heal up and repeatedly come back at him he would be able to defeat Dred, but im assuming running off and finding a healer is cheating...call my scenario a tie if you with, but I give Dred the VERY slight edge.
