Mar 22nd 2012 12:47PM I was running Well of Eternity yesterday, and I noticed that in game, Tyrande always uses a bow, but in the novels/short stories, she clings to her trusty glaive. Is this just a manifestation of in-game mechanics, or is there a reason she uses a bow in WoE and when fighting the Horde [For the Horde!]?
Mar 12th 2012 8:15AM As a female player, I have tried healing, and loved it. My "main" (well, my achievement seeker) is a disc priest. I love healing in bgs most of all, though I'll heal randoms/raids when the urge strikes me.
I think sweeping generalizations about women in games are pretty low (girls don't play wow, anyone?). And I think this one is no exception...I think that most players have tried healing at least once--male or female. I think females just have a higher turnout for healing at endgame. Why? I'm not sure. There are biological differences in the way males and females process information, it would be interesting to see some brain scans of males and females playing different roles--I doubt we'll see that anytime soon though.
My favorite toon is still my tank though...I like to heal, but I much prefer to be tanking. Also, I think I fulfill a stereotypical female (as the case above presents) in that I like my dps to be ranged/casters compared to melee. But not all women gamers I know fit that mold.
For a full anthropological point of view, I'd be curious if this stereotype applies to transgendered players and younger players.
Mar 4th 2012 10:19AM Question for the Queue:
My guildies and I are in an argument about this and I'm hoping you can explain for us. When my durability is down, does my performance go down? Like, say if I'm at 90% durability, do I do 10% less damage? Or is it a flat number: if its broken, you lose those stats and if its above 0% you keep the stats for that item?
Feb 22nd 2012 8:17PM do you still need a key for Malygos? Can you use the 10man key on 25man?
Feb 17th 2012 11:53AM i was hospitalized in December 2010 with a failing liver. I almost had to get a transplant. I was constantly being moved from regular rooms to emergency care, even being ttransferred to another hospital to prepare for a transplant. This was days after the release of Cataclysm as well. No matter where I ended up, I would get daily calls from my amazing guildies in TWSS on Undermine. They were a real pick-me-up whhen I was suffering so greatly.
I luckily never needed that transplant and now have a healthy liver. i'm still with TWSS, and I know I always have their suppport no matter how tough things get. I love them all!
Oct 9th 2011 6:06PM Oh, I didn't know about the inter-library loan. That sounds like a good idea--I'll check it out next time I'm there. Thanks!

What causes Lifegrip to fail but eat its cooldown?
I use Leap of Faith a LOT as a pvp healer, a hobby I've picked up in the last few months on my disc priest. Occasionally, I'll go to lifegrip a flag carrier away from a pack of hordies, and the icon will appear over my head and my target's, but the target doesn't move. Still, my cooldown gets reset. I would say this happens less than 5% of the time, but its frustrating when it does.
Can Leap of Faith "miss"?
Oct 9th 2011 5:28PM Kinda off topic, but what is the usual turn-around for warcraft novels to move from hardcover to softcover? I really enjoyed The Shattering and can't wait to pick up Thrall and Wolfheart, but due to finances, I just can't afford that $30 price tag. I've checked with my local library and they don't have them either...just wondering how long I need to wait to read those two.
Sep 12th 2011 12:03PM I'm not a big reader, but I've recently been going back to read the Warcraft fiction books. I just finished Stormrage. I wanted to ask, why are all major lore druids feral? Broll, Mal, Hammmul, all shift into cat/bear form to fight. They are often in crow form, or casting via caster form. Never do you see a druid switch into boomkin or tree form. Not even the unnamed background characters take on the critchicken or (now all but defunct) tree form.
Also, I never read a mention of why Malfurion has wings on his arms, like in the game. His antlers are covered in great detail, but this other obvious tranformation was never mentioned.
