Aug 25th 2011 6:59PM As much as the sentiment is unappreciated, as the person paying for the vacation, taking a week off work, and going through the trouble to enjoy myself, I believe each person is allowed to enjoy a late fall vacation however they please. Now, my vacation will mostly consist of an indoor heated pool, my family, a tasty beverage, delicious seafood, and a relaxing evening of playing wow without having to worry about being up for work in the morning.
To you, maybe that's not a vacation. Maybe your ideal vacation is parasailing and cliffdiving, and if those things are relaxing to you, that's cool. Maybe my ideal vacation is a Twilight marathon while eating fatback and listening to Rebecca Black. I paid for it, its vacation, and I'm certainly gonna enjoy it as I see fit.

I remember reading about a good way to make a wow backup if you have to sudddenly play on a new computer, without downloadiing the entire game over. I went to put my game folder on a jumpdrive, but its over 25gigs...are there particular files only that I should save, or is this just not an option with the huge patch known as Cataclysm?
As a second part, how would you recommend I decrease my downtime when I go on vacation at the end of September and will be borrowing a friend's laptop? I have the Cataclysm hard copy, if I bring that, caan I just copy patches/addons to the jumpdrive?
Jul 10th 2011 6:25PM Have you visited Hearthglen recently? My human hunter and my boyfriend's dwarf warlock recently made it there and it looks like a cloning experiment gone wrong! All of the unnamed NPCs share the same hair style, color, and face for each race. When I visited, all the unnamed humans were brunette females with brown eyes, smiles, and poofy hair. I can't find a logical reason for this town (and only this town, that I've seen so far) to be so freakishly out of place. No other area of Western Plaguelands seemed to be affected by this strange coding issue.
Jul 2nd 2011 3:00AM My boyfriend and I were questing through WPL and finally visited Hearthglen...have you been there? All the" random npcs" theoughout the zone look the same. One orc male design takes up 8 orcs on patrol. Human females, night elf males, aand blood elf females look identical...what gives? Most zones play out fine, but Hearthglen looks like a genetic experiment gone wrong! I honestly find it creepy. I'm not a lore-fanatic but this makes the area totally out of sync!
Jun 4th 2011 7:38PM The jousting quest-chain reminded me of the PS2 series "Ratchet & Clank". You get some specific gadgets to get through certain zones, and the overshooting the joust did was just like one of those old R&C gadgets.
I know a lot of people hated the jousting, but I was comfortable with it, remembering my platformer days. I wouldn't want it to be a daily quest by any means, but doing the quests didn't bother me either.
Jun 2nd 2011 3:41PM I have a general warlock-y question. Do you have any articles coming up on effective warlock aoe?
I love looking at the meters on single target fights. I am easily gaining a 10% dps lead on single target or limited add fights.
But during the trash, I sometimes struggle to be above (pally) tanks on the dps meter! This is very much a personal flaw--I'm very competitive, and my boss fight dps should be what really matters. But I would love to see those high shiny numbers I saw during Wrath.
(I'm destruction and I read that Demo is where the AoE is at. My warlock is my alt, my main being a pally tank. I don't take my lock into many raids and respeccing before heroic bosses can be a hassle. )
Seed or Corruption, Rain of Fire or multi-target dotting?
Since I mostly do heroics, I am specced into Shadowfury (I find it useful on a LOT of fights), but I can't seem to make this work in a regular AoE rotation.
Apr 4th 2011 6:12PM As a good raider, I like to use top-of-the-line buff food. But the majority of what I get from my cooking dailies (done on multiple toons) is +60 stats. Is there a reason for the over-abundance of lower stat food?
In Wrath we used the same food for both quality buffs, just adding in spices or more food. Are there any plans to change this? Or is my experience in cooking rewards different than others?
Mar 29th 2011 1:32PM Mind control is one of my favorite forms of crowd control, both as a tank and a shadow priest. But when the MC breaks, it makes a beeline for the casting priest. Even with a fade and a (glyphed) fear, tanks have a helluva time taking it off my priest.
As a tank, I have the same issue. Though both Omen and TidyPlates agree that my threat is far above the priest's, I cannot get aggro back for more than the duration of the taunt. Why is threat after a mind control so...out of control? Is there a particularly effective way to regain threat, besides stun-lock and taunt spam?
Mar 25th 2011 1:05PM Thank you Kurtis! That does seem to have returned my phone to its much more readable version of my favorite wow blog.
Mar 25th 2011 12:10PM Since I got my Droid2 last year, I've been reading WI almost exclusively on it. So clean! Love it!
But one day, I was stuck waiting, and like any nerd, started trying to read old Overachiever columns. They wouldn't come up for some reason, using the search feature or clicking the tags at the bottomm. "No results were found". Eventually I switched to "the full WoWInsider experience" and I was able to keep myself occupied for the next two hours.
But now, I can't get back to the mobile version that I loved so dearly. Is there a link somewhere that I just can't find? I tried i.wow.joystiq.com (or w/e) and it still displays the non-mobile version.
And will the search/tag marks ever work properly on the mobile version?
