The Daily Quest: Ulduar {WoW}

Apr 16th 2009 4:55AM As soon as patch 3.1 came out my guild (who had predominantly logged out at the instance entrance) marched in there on 10man and oneshotted Leviathan, Razorscale was a different matter though, four hours of solid wiping and we eventually got him down, earning the achievement A Quick Shave in the process. Managed to get the last 25% on fraps, doesn't show the routine we used for the adds though.

Reading the achievements gave some clue as to which way to approach killing him, for example we didn't realise till after we downed it that the Dwarves that spawn are succeptible to the blue fire /facedesk

Blood Pact: How the mighty have fallen, 2008 in review part II {WoW}

Jan 1st 2009 8:17AM Am I the only Lock around who is still loving the class? I play in a fairly casual guild, currently working on construct quarter in Naxx before Sapp and KT and in the last month (since I respecced back affli after being demo to level) I've not dropped lower than first on damagemeters. I'm specced full affli - an extension of the old classic SM/Ruin - my only criticism of the class currently is the obvious shard issue - I always try and go into a raid with at least fifty shards as Shadowburn is an active part of my rotation. Would it be too much to ask for shards to stack, even in 2s would be nice! Fixing glyph of drain soul might also be an idea as I've NEVER seen it proc.

My Lock is the first char I rolled and still my main, four years later. I've been affli more or less all the way - I tried demo for a while but didn't like the dip in dps (despite going from about 1.8k to 2.6k odd spell damage) and the half-heartedness that is Metamorphosis. I love having a lot to pay attention to, I love timing my dot rotations, I love the situational nature of curses and above all I love the sense of achievement that comes from having to focus fully on a fight when others around you are afk buttonspamming and wondering why you're kicking their arse damagewise.
Admittedly, I don't pvp extensively (I managed to get an 1800 rating in 2v2 with a pally friend back in our uberpwnage days but didn't really do much past that) so the current situation with regards arenas and bgs doesn't really affect me too heavily (although having said that I had a lot easier time getting the 50hks for the Winter Veil achievement than my mage housemate). If anything I find it a return to our super-squishy pre-bc days.
I honestly don't think I would still be playing WoW if it wasn't for the amount of concentration needed to play a lock to its fullest. Fair enough, any class can dps now but when you're grouped with someone who's been playing the same char exclusively since release that generally goes out the window imo. After all, what's the ratio between the number of ret pallys you know now to the number of *amazing* ret pallys you know?

And #8 - Drain Soul is a good source of dps? Are you sure you're playing the same World of Warcraft?
