Apr 29th 2007 10:00AM Fear Ward or Star Shards? Hmmm, such a tough decision! Oh wait, there's also Elune's Grace. LAWL.
Apr 26th 2007 6:14AM Ummm... no one really cares about these guys?
Apr 17th 2007 7:04AM I think it's a mistake to assume that Blizzard's goal is to achieve class balance. If you think it through, having all classes be equally capable and functional results in the game play becoming homogeneous and boring. The end result is that players lose that important sense of challenge.
I honestly think Blizz uses these class nerfs to create a sense of dissonance amongst the player communities. By going through cycles of nerfing and buffing, the classes are constantly kept in a state of imbalance. This results in some classes going through periods where they feel fortunate for their class' buff, while other classes feel cheated.
The first group enjoys a period of happiness while the other group feels that it's now them versus the world. Ideally, the second group sticks it out and rises to the challenge, and when the pendulum swings back their way, they feel incredibly lucky for staying loyal to their class.
For the constant stream of new players (new to the game, or new to a class), these nerfs and buffs are meaningless as you're not likely to appreciate or miss something you're not familiar with. To summarize, these cyclic class nerfs and buffs actually promote a stronger player community as well as keeping the game play and strategy constantly varied.
Having said all that, as someone who plays a priest and pally, I can't shake the feeling that I've been doubly unlucky in my class choices. Damn you Blizzard!
Apr 8th 2007 9:17PM Great job on the article, and thank you for putting so much effort into it. I think these little touches from Blizz really help to make the back story and lore more fleshed out. The Scarlet Crusade is probably one of the most interesting of the Warcraft lore, and yes, Whitemane is hawt!
Apr 7th 2007 9:57AM Both of my toons dinged 70 by the time I finished Blade's Edge, and I picked to go to Netherstorm as my next destination. I can't really say I love Netherstorm a whole lot. The amount of travel in that zone is a bit excessive, but having your flying mount eases the pain. There are some nice quest rewards in Netherstorm too. I highly recommend players reach 70 before taking on Netherstorm or SMV. The flying mount makes the questing so much easier, and you'll be earning heaps of gold.
Apr 7th 2007 9:46AM No point blaming this guy for ruining Reckoning. It's just human nature to show off something you've done that is cool and awesome. You can't blame Blizz for nerfing this, but it's still a bit sad to see the current Reckoning being a mere shadow of its previous self.
Apr 7th 2007 9:32AM When I leveled my first toon to 70, the AH on our server (Silver Hand) pretty much went downhill, with the number of items dropping off the map. I had very little success auctioning the various green and blue items that I picked up from the Outlands. Over time, I think players slowly adjusted the prices to be more realistic, and I noticed more of my items began to sell. As poster #11 said, know which types of items are in demand and sell well. Be realistic in your pricing, too. However, I do think the selling fees in the AH are a bit steep. It's also a pain not having an AH in the Outlands. It really discourages players from putting items on auction. I would not be surprised if this changes sooner, rather than later.
Mar 31st 2007 11:00AM To all the people whining that this post went up 1 day before April 1st, did it occur to them that it might have been April 1st in other parts of the world? ZOMG there are time zones beside the one I live in! ZOMG there are people who live outside my country! As far as the orignal post goes, the joke was pretty lame, and I feel sorry for the poor people who got sucked in.
Mar 27th 2007 10:55PM Very interesting read/ Obviously, gearing is critical. I would love to see some armory profiles of tankadins at various levels of game progression. My pally is just about to ding 70, and getting close to the numbers in this guide seems very daunting indeed.

Re: Tuesday maintenance
It's always a sad night for us Aussies. Last week I got home from work, had dinner, logged onto WoW and was greeted with the message "Server shutdown in 1 minute.".
