Feb 11th 2010 9:32AM I completely disagree with you newsteinleo. Gear score addons are very important to have in the game and they contribute a lot of good to the game when they are used correctly.
The problem comes when people misuse the information provided by the gear score addons and assume that no player is any good unless the player has the highest gear score possible. I've pugged heroics (and even some raids) with plenty of fine tanks, healers and dps who don't have super high gear scores.
I like the idea of the Elitist Group addon because it also looks at a player's experience as well as gear. I'm gonna go download this addon today and give it a try! Thanks for the excellent article and interview Matthew! :-)
Jan 27th 2010 9:32AM It's nice to see these Elemental gearing issues (and the Elemental spec in general) being discussed here on Wow.com.
I'd like to see an article about the trials and tribulations of an Elemental shaman in a competitive raiding environment because I know from personal experience that it's not an easy task to compete with the dps put out by pure-dps classes. I think the Elemental spec has a lot of potential when it comes to end game raiding but Blizzard needs to continue to develop the Elemental talent tree to increase damage output, possibly at a sacrifice to raid buffs.
Woots for the buff to Shamanism talent coming soon in patch 3.3.2!
Jan 7th 2010 4:30PM I'll be sorry to see you go because I alway enjoy reading your Totem Talk columns, however, with that said, please bring an Elemental focused columnist in ASAP!!
I'm a raiding Elemental Shaman on Shandris and I want to read articles for and about my lightning-throwing brethren! :-)
