MMObility: Battle of the browsers {Massively}

Mar 30th 2011 3:34PM Almost every feature that Firefox does not have that Chrome does can be emulated in some way by an extension or addon.

And Chrome doesn't have NoScript yet.

The Daily Grind: What developer do you appreciate? {Massively}

Mar 28th 2011 11:03AM Blizzard! I've played and tried quite a few MMOs, but they keep me coming back somehow.

Storyboard: Archetype discussion -- the Defiant {Massively}

Strangely enough I still used her over Eiko during that segment of the game.

Lichborne: Tier 11 raid and valor point gear for death knights {WoW}

Mar 9th 2011 7:50PM Old math there. The change to Unholy's mastery makes mastery a lot better than crit, especially with the shift of your damage proportions more onto your diseases and SS from your pets.

Lichborne: Tier 11 raid and valor point gear for death knights {WoW}

Mar 9th 2011 7:48PM There's a logical disconnect here that's very common if you haven't looked at the math behind it.

If you lose 1% expertise for 1% haste (This is not the exact math), you do not necessarily lose 1% white damage / strike hits over the course of an encounter. In addition, if you have empty GCDs at any point, missing a strike does not matter, at least for Unholy. 1% haste is always a DPS gain, though, as far as rune regen and white damage, as well as pet damage, is concerned. Pet damage is not affected by expertise, making haste affect more of your overall damage.

Expertise is heavily focused on for Frost because the spec is GCD-capped and a dodged or missed strike still consumes Killing Machine. Unholy has no such restriction.

Lichborne: Tier 11 raid and valor point gear for death knights {WoW}

Mar 9th 2011 11:39AM The math incorporates Heroism and Unholy Frenzy. It's still not worth it to cap it unless you have so much expertise that you still have 26 even after reforging all of it off.

If you have that much you've made a gearing mistake somewhere along the line, however.

The Daily Grind: What are your MMO desktop necessities? {Massively}

Mar 9th 2011 11:30AM Water, clean snacking food (Bagels are great for this), if not food some type of gum. Everything else is taken care of by my actual battlestation.

Mar 9th 2011 4:16AM Default textures on bars is so cringeworthy.

Lichborne: Tier 11 raid and valor point gear for death knights {WoW}

Mar 9th 2011 4:13AM Whoa! EJ is technically out of date and will be for quite some time until somebody else picks up Consider's work.

That said, expertise isn't necessarily required for Unholy because the spec isn't GCD-capped and a large portion of its damage (Diseases, Death Coil, pet damage) isn't affected by the stat, whereas only diseases manage to dodge the expertise requirement for Frost.
