Adobe CS5 launched, wallets everywhere cry out as one and are silenced {TUAW.com}

Apr 12th 2010 12:54PM Soundbooth, which was added to Web Premium in CS4, seems to have been removed for CS5? What gives?

How the WoW community is about to push the self-destruct button {WoW}

Dec 14th 2009 6:53PM I just don't get why Ghostcrawler and others get so upset. If they had any sense, they'd step away from the forums and have others analyze them for feedback so that the benefit of an open line to the community still exists, without driving the designers literally crazy. You can't blame fanboys for being excitable; it's the Internet, for crying out loud. (We all know that if WoW was a democracy, the game would become a complete dog's breakfast and quickly collapse into chaos.)

Embroiling oneself in a player psychodrama like this is just nuts. And most regular players could care less.

Realm Status: Coming back online {WoW}

Dec 8th 2009 5:20PM Why isn't there any update on the actual login screen?

Disenchanting in dungeons in patch 3.3 {WoW}

Oct 28th 2009 1:55PM The way I'm reading this, the item is AUTOMATICALLY disenchanted -- the enchanter in the group doesn't need to receive the item and do the annoying manual labor. You'd think enchanters would be thrilled!

Boxee secures Series B round, plans for more features and more developers {TUAW.com}

Aug 12th 2009 1:31PM Actually, I think someone should come out with an HDTV-friendly browser -- i.e. something with large type, clear buttons and so on that can occupy a 50" screen and be surfable from 15 feet away.

Boxee secures Series B round, plans for more features and more developers {TUAW.com}

Aug 12th 2009 12:01PM The Boxee folks NEED to usability test their product. I set it up on my older parents' computer -- they are computer literate, but only just -- and they hit a lot of obstacles before getting the hang of it. Why did they name the Channels "Applications"? Why is the power button so hidden away? Why do we have to look at a recommendations screen first? We skip it EVERY TIME. If Boxee is going to have mass appeal, the geeks need to step out of the way. (And quite frankly, Plex doesn't cut it either, although it has some nice touches.)

Player reaction to the 5-man Trial {WoW}

Aug 7th 2009 2:13PM Someone should time the whole intro and make an addon that warns you 30 secs before the fight starts.

Breakfast Topic: Raiding: How easy is too easy? {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2009 11:31AM Some great ideas here, and I agree with you about boss fights. I don't understand why they build predictability into every fight. (I loved the MGT battle where you get a random mix of guys.)

They also should have created a few zones that were locked, AQ-style, and open only at a certain point, or only for players that have reached a certain level or requirement. Maybe a specific amount of achievement points?

Personally, I think Blizz is phoning it in at the moment.

Breakfast Topic: Raiding: How easy is too easy? {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2009 11:24AM I TOTALLY agree. This isn't an argument about casual vs. hardcore, it's a larger issue of "is this game any fun anymore?" All I know is I'm BORED.

* The classes have been homogenized, and all significant differences have been pounded out of them
* 5-mans were less interesting this time around. Some in fact were terrible, AND too easy. CC has disappeared from the game, and with it, all suspense.
* Northrend zones are uninteresting, apart from Howling Fjord and Zul'Drak IMHO.
* Dailies suck too, and the high-end rewards (a 20K mammoth?) aren't captivating enough to work towards

This game needs to get HARDER again, including 5-mans, so that there is more suspense and excitement. At least in BC it was challenging and fun to fight through Shadow Labyrinth, for example.

And the introduction of the Death Knight was a big mistake.

I have played this game since launch, and I loved it, but now I find myself not playing anymore. I'm letting my subs (2 accounts) lapse and I'm trying to find something else to do.

Blizz needs to wake up. Seriously. I think they are convinced they are above reproach and total geniuses. It will come back to haunt them if things continue this way.

Breakfast Topic: Nostalgia vs. reality -- fight! {WoW}

Feb 21st 2009 11:46AM Sorry, I'm just bored by Wrath. I was much more engaged in BC at the same stage, and now I'm temporarily taking a break from the game. The different zones aren't as interesting, I've done all the 5-mans to death, and Naxx runs are tedious, especially after having run that place in classic WoW. The whole thing just isn't as interesting. Am I the only one thinking this way?
