Addon Spotlight: Mists of Pandaria Beta UI upgrades {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 3:04PM ...We can't unconsolidate our buffs?

While I like the idea of a more organized buff system, I can't say I'm thrilled with that change. I like glancing up at seeing the little squares and knowing immediately what I have and don't have.

Deja Review: Silent Hill HD Collection {Joystiq}

Mar 20th 2012 9:22PM @Cletus VanDamme

One, three, Homecoming and (if you can stomach it) that awful PSP one tell the overarching 'story' of silent hill. None of them really require you to play the others, but they're all connected.

Two and four and the new one are more like...short stories set inside the world of the other games.

Which doesn't change the fact that two is hands down the best one, with three being a close second.

Sony's Rohde: proprietary Vita cards 'completely necessary' to combat piracy {Joystiq}

Feb 21st 2012 9:35PM People already managed to run hello world on a vita. So this doesn't actually do anything at all.

And there will probably be adapters to use with it from third party companies in a few months anyway.

'Activision doesn't blacklist journalists,' working on resolution with Gameblog {Joystiq}

Feb 19th 2012 5:10PM It wouldn't surprise me if this happens more than we realize, but we just don't hear about it when a website capitulates to the demand. They don't want to be seen doing that, after all, and can't afford to lose the news access they have with the video game companies.

And the companies take the risk of being outed as assholes, which they can always blame on an 'overzealous member of their staff' rather than being corporate policy, and get to keep the journalists who do agree in line.

XBL GM responds to Live security concerns {Joystiq}

Feb 8th 2012 3:32AM @NewEraBlood

Or you could just be completely wrong. My Live account has a unique password compared to my other things, and is connected to an email I only use for Live. I never log into it anywhere except on my xbox.

And I got hacked for Fifa.

The problem is not on the user end.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer has character(s) {Joystiq}

SSX to feature online pass {Joystiq}

Jan 30th 2012 1:28PM Oh no, how dare companies try to find some way to get people to buy their games new instead of used. Those bastards!

Look, I get it. And in a few years this is going to suck if you're hunting for an old game you can't get new anymore. But every time you buy a fifty-five dollar game used instead of a sixty dollar game new, that's basically free money for gamestop, and nothing goes to the publisher or developer. Which sucks.

I think EA might be overdoing this a little, but it's pretty easy to see WHY they're doing it, and if it bothers you that much, wait a few weeks till best buy or one of the big block stores has a sale where it's only forty bucks. Because it always happens anymore.

Creepy Japanese title Nanashi no Game phones in a sequel (in Japan) {Joystiq}

Jan 26th 2012 10:08PM There's a fan translation of Nanashi no Game for DS running around the internet, and if you can get your hands on it it's honestly pretty freaky.

Pre-order a Mass Effect artbook for an in-game rifle on PC or Xbox {Joystiq}

Jan 25th 2012 1:40PM Okay, I get that ME is one of their big franchises now, but this is getting kind of silly.

DLC from where you preorder, from books, from playing the demos of other games, from buying action figures...
