Jun 8th 2010 8:21AM After having read a lot of articles here and elsewhere about how people struggle to find good tanks, how you either get a-holes or just plain noobs (pardon the language), I've always tried to be a fair and decent tank. Not rushing unnecessarily, not flaming people with gear lvls lower than mine, being considerate of newer healers and players in general. I try to not just quit a group after the 1st wipe, since I know how long deeps have to wait fro tanks to swing round, but sometimes, just sometimes....
I have found myself in a lot of groups with trigger happy, overeager dps (hunters mostly, sorry) who will egg me on to go faster or the like, will ninja pull random mob groups (without MDing me, or FDing after) and then I'm left to run arround like a headless chicken trying to pickup all the loose ends, since the other dpsers are inevitable targeting entirely diffrent mobs aswell. After a wipe caused by such events, if said instigator actually has the gall to then call me a noob tank or a moron etc, I will drop group, I will not argue, I will not taunt that player, I will not do anything for that group from that moment on. I am really sorry, but I am an adult who gets hassled at work all day in the same manner, I wont stand to be inuslted by a 14 year old who needs a good smack against the head.
That's how I deal with it. Call me stupid, but sticking around trying to argue with children or childish adults who get their jollies off from enraging other people, really isn't a way I want to spend my time in wow. That's also why I find the /ignore function such a blessing.
Jun 3rd 2010 10:04AM I so badly wish I had a mind for this stock trading type way of handling AH and making gold.
Over 7 chars I only have about 20k, and that's been saved up from dailies, selling the odd fish or gem (from emblems), some titanium ore stacks every now and then.... and thats as far as I can get.
The reason being, I really suck at this whole AH game thing, when I try to farm, I find very soon that the item that used to be well sought after has become overly abbundant on AH. When I try the enchanters scroll vs live craft thing, I always find sum1 else apparently lvling enchanting with a 100 of those scrolls on AH and mats wasted right there.
I don't know what I'm missing, but I really just can't get the hang of it.
WTB Trader Skillz, pst
May 20th 2010 1:07PM Another Cata Q:
If some of your chars have quests active in zones that get total revamps, will these quests dissapear from the log on launch day? Or is the zone questing not changing so drastically?
Any chance someone can info me if there are any EU realm guilds having the nostalgic 'level a new char for sightseeing before Cata' thing going on? I'm looking for some good old adventuring fun, but it's boring alone :((
May 13th 2010 3:50AM Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, or if I missed this already being answered (just downrate if that's the case):
Is there a European version of this 'event' going on anywhere? Or just at least a group of people anywhere on the European Servers doing the same 'lvl a fresh char just for fun thing with everyone'?
I'm in desperate need of entertainement atm, Im even ducking around other games between raid lockouts (I'm astrictly pugging only kinda player, RL reasons), and I'm saving the remaining 2 character slots on my main realm for Cata chars.
I'm srsly keen on this kind of 'adventure' thing. So please just lemme know if any europeans have this kind of guild thing going on. I'd love to get some senseless murloc bashing under my belt before I lose my mind because of 'I g2g, just before saurfang, lawlz, enjoy ur lockou being gimped, hurhurhur'.
Apr 28th 2010 8:58AM Thank you for this!!
Made my lunch hour very interesting :D
And I gotta say, after looking at a few pages of what it all was like back 3-4 years ago, I am amazed at how the game itself has changed, how topics of interest have evolved.
Is awesome. Would make an excellent breakfast topic discussion now, especcially since the whole world (of warcraft) is about to be remade...
So how about it? 7 wonders of the world (of warcraft)?
Apr 20th 2010 8:55AM For my paladin, priest, warlock and death knight:
A quest based after the fall of the lich king, where you go back to the plaguelands to help cleanse the land of the taint left by undeath and plague. Pamela would feature, definately, as part of bringing peace to her soul and help her move on. Phased questing I guess. Since in Cata 1 of the plaguelands will be back to 'un-plagued', this could be something like the invasion before WotLK.
For my mage, shaman and hunter:
A return to AQ type questing, finding old magics, perhaps setting up a new CoT dungeon for Cata, conecting with some of the other aspects before all that is known now has come to pass. Also as a way to finaly defeat Deathwing?
For my rogue:
Something more involved with the Ravenholdt, revealing some more of the workings of this mysterious society. NOTHING to do with lockboxes though. Perhaps a bit of recon on sensitive information with regard to current horde politics? Ending in a horrific death for Garrosh.
All of these quests ultimately reward an epic shirt that boosts all stats by 15 :D
Apr 19th 2010 9:46AM And besides, Dandruff Pohnee Pwns All
(Except perhaps the Ironbound Proto Drake)
Apr 19th 2010 3:15AM Personaly this is how I view the whole issue, too. I bought it for the fun factor, because it is beautiful, and because realistically I could never have the mount if it was achievement based ingame.
Strange how people forget the simple comparative that goes with all ingame trophies.
'Get it if you can, admire those who have it, don't QQ if its too hard to get yourself'
On the same basis I can start ranting about how unreasonable and unfair it is that Arthas' mount is only obtainable in that 1 way, but how hard would everyone laugh at me if I did?
Most every player on wow will never EVER get a chance to run heroic ICC raids, let alone have a chance at seeing that mount drop, how unfair is that, huh? How dare they? Oh but wait, it's supposed to be something special right? Just like, say, a vanity item bought with real world money, by those who CAN afford it?
If everyone just got over the 'Real Money Issue' they'd see that a lot of stuff ingame isn't necesarrily 'fair'. Because WoW isn't a socialistic environment, we don't all get the same things by default. Otherwise, why would proto drakes and frostbrood vanquishers be special and so awesome?
Apr 8th 2010 5:09PM Actually can I say something about frustrating seasonal achievs?
I mean really, really, I try hard, but aaaarrrrggghhhh...
Rocket's Red Glare from Lunar Festival. END
Why? Because of lag, where I live and lag, bad bad lag.
So there I was, so many mornings, 4 am or 5 am, in Silithus with nothing but scorpions to keep me company. So proud of my rocket launcher I made, with my haste buffed up to the friggen max, all addons disabled, graphics turned down to 'Grampa can't see without his glasses'.
And what did that help?
F...ALL. Cuz no matter if I stand in the middle of dalaran at 5 pm on a friday afternoon or sit on the bum side of the world at a God-forsaken time of the morning, I would always ALWAYS miss the timer by 1 rocket.
Any guesses on how many rockets I've launced? go on, guess, Winner gets a Cluster Rocket Launcher...
