Apr 27th 2010 4:21PM The game was designed around the casual gamer yes but raiding was originally designed for the hardcore. Through his entire QQ post was mostly frustration but he did get one thing right is that they are watering down the challenging aspect of this game. One day i swear i will see once the buff gets to 30 percent and people STILL havent killed LK they will hand out invincable mounts and say "thanks for trying anyway".
A month before Catalclysm is released they will give all that tried and failed full t 10 and full wrathful pvp gear. Well you werent good enough to get it on your own but you are going to QQ enough about not having it that we are going to give it to you anyway.
Apr 27th 2010 12:23PM The answer to all is yes. I have that . . .killed that. For what? Heroic loot? that has 5 more spellpower and is just colored a different color? Which is the EXACT same fight but you may get goo thrown at you? Ya very lackluster.
What happened to the days of Sunwell. . tier gear was a footnote on what actually dropped in there and the boss content was fantastic. It went through serveral nerfs till the QQers slowed their sobbing.
All this does is once again water down the harder content so everyone can get what they want without having to put forth the effort to do so. Point and fact . . they aint going to make 10 mans harder to compete with 25. . .they are going to soften 25 to make it comparable to 10. SO thus. . difficulty is the same. So once again we will crush the content within a short period. . farmed and geared. . sitting in dalaran bored while we listen to everyone scream for the nerf bat.
Apr 27th 2010 11:51AM Exactly my point. . .why do people feel it necessary to be able to attain as gear as fast as we do. "well the raiders were in full t 10 weeks before i was. . QQ" well duh. . its because we put the time and effort to do so. Its supposed to take longer for you. . if you feel that you have to log in everyday because if you dont you miss out on gains just because you wont be the same as us well thats your problem and your flaw.
Apr 27th 2010 11:34AM The question id like to ask blizzard is with all this cutting and reforming to make it more accessable for the "casual" gamer what do you have to offer the "hardcore" gamer? Do we get nothing but balooned boss HP pools and increased damage with minimal rewards for our efforts?
Same goes for the Pvp Junkies out there. Giving them access to everything without limits what rewards would they have by actually doing well in battlegrounds or arena? A title. . .or mount ( which is the same skin as the PvE one?). Talk about lackluster.
What would be the driving force to excell to be the best since the gear is attainable for everyone? The most tangable thing they can come up with is mounts but hey you can get one that kinda looks like it for 25 bucks anyway so whats the point.
Apr 27th 2010 9:10AM So you are saying you want everything that the "hardcore have" but put forth less effort then they do. Gotcha.
Apr 27th 2010 8:57AM Its cause they outnumber us by alot. Those of us that actually can get what we want through knowing how to play the game because of skill attained through actually learning how. While they just scream across the blizz forums to swing the nerf bat cause they cant down it or "that class is too OP". So they will continue to give to those that dont put forth the effort.
Inc downrated from all of them. . .because its the ugly truth.
Apr 27th 2010 8:41AM I hold judgement on the points system for raiding cause its going to weigh itself either way due to limitations. But as for pvp. . .
" We're removing personal rating requirements on almost all items; they're definitely removed for weapons. We might offer a few items to the absolute best players based on personal rating, largely as cosmetic or 'bragging rights' type items."
Shows that they recognize a definate flaw in the system for pvp because it exposes them to the idea of people that just run bots. I hate bots. But it happens. Without limits for access on items it may encourage those ignorant people to run their bots to get points cap for the week without the effort of doing it themselves.
Apr 26th 2010 3:29PM People are missing the point. They aint going to increase the difficulty of 10 man to compare to 25 man. Then are going to water down 25 man so its comparable to 10 man so thus those that couldnt previously clear complete content can do so. Titles, gear, mounts will be worthless cause its so easy that you will see a degress in player attendence on any 25 man guild within a month of the x pac. "Oh you get more gear though!". . who cares. After that first month the raids will be like going in ulduar in 277 gear so most of us will just quit raiding to find an actual challenge possibly in arena.
Apr 26th 2010 12:44PM Alot of us raid this game BECAUSE of that challenge. . .since they will water it down for your casuals why should we even have 25 man guilds. In reality casual gamers cry not because their content isnt as good as our but they cant show their e peen as much as us. Greed is what it is all about.
Apr 26th 2010 12:39PM This idea is what everyone says it is. Its the 25 man raiding killer. Most people that enjoy doing the 25 man raiding experience IS because of the challenge and the greater reward that it possesses. If you make the difficulty of making a 10 man and 25 man raid similar then guess what you might as well think as the rest of raiding in cataclysm one long VoA run. Mindlessly farming the bosses without any actual care what-so-ever. Same gear, same difficulty. . .takes a few minutes and then be bored sitting in Dalaran?
I have nothing against smaller guilds and wanting to experience the content but do we have to water down 25 mans so the 10 man guilds can puff out their chest saying they are just as good? Why remove the challenging aspect of this game of organizing 25+ people? I understand the change from 40 to 25 cause of the greater impact you can have with a degree of difficulty having to organize so many. Call me elitist but i rather enjoy the fact that knowing everything that i have earned was through facing the most challenging moments and experiencing it with a large group of people. Not having the best in slot gear because you are a casual raider is not something to be crying over. . .taking away the reason that so many put their dedication to so they can experience the challenge and enjoy the fruit of their tireless hard work is.
All this is going to do is push us that require that degree of challenge away from raiding completely to find it elsewhere . . thus breaking up alot of 25 man raiding guilds in the process. Tons of posts on guild forums will utter the phase. . raiding is boring and not fun anymore.
