Nov 2nd 2011 6:29PM I'm guessing that this list counted names ignoring "special"/"accented" characters, but maybe took the name it used from the first it encountered. So, if it saw "Merlìn", "Merlin", "Merlin" and "Merlîn", it said "there are 4 characters named 'Merlìn'."

Inspect request throttling explained {WoW}
Jun 29th 2010 8:18AM Ideally, the client would prescreen the requests, since it knows when you made the last one. The server would have a hard throttle, too, but I'd guess having the client screen first would be more efficient.
But this change, so far, is just a server side one.
