Dec 12th 2011 6:05PM This is handy, but you're giving misleading/incomplete info. For example, all you say about the Sage/Sorcerer is they are healers which is patently false. Depending on which of the trees in the AC you choose they can be healers or extremely good range dps. As many will turn to this sort of guide to see what classes can do what roles, I feel you really need to correct/add to many of the AC's you've listed.
Jan 25th 2010 9:46AM Nice educational post. I do have a couple of questions, though I guess it is more about buff stacking mechanics vs. any one portion of the article itself.
If you get a rogue to cast tricks of the trade on you, and then you cast MD, will the threat portion of the tool tip from MD override the threat portion from tricks? Also, though I don't play MM myself, if an MM hunter has tricks thrown on them, then fires a serpent sting, will the refresh from Chimera shot continue the extra 15% damage from tricks the entire fight?
Jan 15th 2010 8:23AM Thanks for clarification and I can understand completely that you can't cover everything all the time. As I mentioned, it is a great couple of articles and I look forward to seeing the other articles you mentioned. I would ask that in situations like this where you provide specific guides it may be helpful to people who are not as familiar with analyzing gear and turn to folks like you to help them that this is oriented towards one build or another.
You can't please everyone I know, so feel free to ignore. Good luck with the blog.
Jan 14th 2010 4:48PM Yes, I understand that MM/ArP is in the majority for raiding, hence why I said so in the second sentence.
ArP can be good for all specs but what I am specifically referring to in how you are presenting the material is you comment on it to the exclusion of everything else even when it isn't appropriate. Perfect example is your discussion on 2-handers. By reading your monologue about ArP or hit and how the Greatspear is better than Quel'delar (all of which is true) you completely ignore the fact that Distant Land is far superior to either of them for a SV hunter.
You are supposed to be the writer for hunters, not just MM/ArP hunters is my only point, take it or leave it. But if you leave it, please re-title who you are actually writing for clarification.
Jan 14th 2010 12:43PM Great couple of articles. While I realize that the best dps is currently MM/ArP build, many of us for various reasons are not (needed replenishment, no arcane mage or ret pally, yadda yadda). Could you please make other recommendations to balance the constant "this has more ArP and is therefore better" theme you have consistently developed? Thanks
