Sep 23rd 2010 6:52PM 9 stack fulmination crits up to ~40k in basically full t10 gear with trinket procs, I find it is better cast than LvB so in short I would have my priorities like this single target:
9 stack ES > Flame Shock (when dot not present) > Lava Burst > Lightning Bolt
I found that aswell for prime glyphs Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst and Flametongue Weapon would be best for 4.0 if you have 4 pc t10, as even with the small amount of mastery you get baseline, you extend 1 flame shock for long periods of time. I believe on the target dummies I ended up extending Flame Shock for a period of 5 minutes because the elemental overload Lava Burst extends flameshock.
Great first post though Sarah!
Aug 18th 2010 6:49AM Qot you are seriously mistaken if you think elemental doesn't use searing totem/fire elemental totem, because elemental most certainly uses both.
Jul 7th 2010 5:03PM Troll or not his/her point is pretty valid, like I said previously its nice that he rehashed the RS guide with a few resto shaman pointers, but its just that and people seem to want original content.
For people who read this column looking for some new and insightful information who are already accustomed to how a resto shaman works are usually going to be disappointed because e this article and many in the past have been written as though the reader doesn't know their own spells. You would think if a resto shaman is in RS that they would have an idea that you use chain heal to heal a group of people and you use healing wave to heal the tanks for a large amount of health. That's my biggest gripe with Joe is that he writes as though the reader doesn't know what they are doing when many people who read these articles do know what they are doing. He could have done several things with this article like positioning tricks in p2 so you don't have to move the entire time the cutters are up, well actually that's about it because this topic is pretty dry if you have read the strat.
Another thing is that the cataclysm beta is out, the talent trees are released why not make a topic about several new cool talent specs that could be used in cata and kinda doing a feeling out for some of the new talents. It would be interesting original content that would appeal to more than just people who have a resto offspec or maybe want to level a resto shaman in the future.
Jul 6th 2010 2:59PM While it's nice that you wrote up a strategy guide to ruby sanctum, I fail to see how this post is related to resto shaman. Of the 1781 words that are in this article only 365 are anything related to resto shamans meaning most of this article happens to be a strategy for ruby sanctum with a 3 paragraph introduction. I think a more appropriate title for this article would be Ruby Sanctum Guide with a few Resto Shaman tips.
Not trying to be picky here, but basically you wrote 590 of the words then copy and pasted about 1200 of them. I agree that the strategy guide is nice, but the strat is already available on another part of the website and I would have preferred some original content instead of a rehash of a boss strat with some commentary towards resto shamans.

May 8th 2010 4:34PM The wow market isn't like capitalism at all. A simplistic way to define capitalism is a clever way to vote on who has the best product with your money, where in wow all the products are the same but the cheapest producer wins. Essentially wow is a free market, nobody is forcing you to do anything with laws and your "taxes" are deducted before you receive the money.
May 4th 2010 6:01PM @Spoonshark your beacon trick won't work, beacon doesn't heal for the same amount that the spell you healed your target with did, beacon casts the same spell with the modifiers you have on yourself on your beaconed target.
EX you cast a 10k holy light on a tenacity pet with heart of the rhino, you have wings up as well, Your holy light on the rhino will hit for 16800, but it will only hit your beacon for 12000. As for Glyph of Holy Light, yes it does work like that, but you almost never have anyone sitting near the boss with the exception of maybe beaconing the boss and blasting heals on yourself.
For heroic mode on this fight as a shaman, the self healing aspect can be made trivial by glyph of healing wave.
Mar 15th 2010 10:23PM One thing about the boxes is that they really punish hunters more than any other class, you can't shoot anyone behind or around the boxes without jumping down a level, which allows the target to simply run to the other side. Although I suspect that next expansion they will remove minimum range on hunters, I would think that moving the boxes away from the edge would help hunters a bit more without sacrificing LoS and knockback possibilities.
If you've ever arena'd on a hunter you know nothing is more annoying than a team that simply turtles at the boxes the entire match.
