Dec 28th 2010 6:29PM W00t! Nice.
Dec 25th 2010 8:08PM :0 Want so much! All my mates have one from paying for and viewing the Blizzcon live stream. Sadly I was away that weekend, with no access to a PC :(
Dec 25th 2010 8:05PM Huzzah! Another I can sign up for.
Dec 24th 2010 7:25PM One those of us outside the US can actually enter! Fantastic!
Dec 23rd 2010 7:07AM "buuut i do get a 30% healing buff from it but still the time it takes for GCD to get rdy the tank might allready be dead."
Having not done much in the way of Cata dungeons yet I may be wrong, but didn't the devs say they wanted healing to be less reactionary madly spamming and more time to consider cos the tank isn't going to die in 1 or 2 boss hits?
That suggests to me that if the tank is dead in the time it takes for GCD/wind shear/GCD then they're undergeared, or the rest of the group aren't pulling their weight with regards to CC and such to limit the tank damage.

Words to regret living by ;)
I was perfectly happy to PuG tank Wrath heroics, but only after i'd done them a few times with guild and was confident I knew how they worked. Thus far i've stayed well away from the dungeon finder for Cata. I'm not even 85 yet, I still need to re-learn properly how tanking works on my Paladin since the 4.0 changes. Once i've watched a few strat guides/vids and am confident I know how it's supposed to go, and have done a few guild runs, i'll start PuGing...
Dec 22nd 2010 2:52PM What's that last picture from? It looks like a proper Blizz cinematic, but I certainly don't remember ever seeing one of those in relation to Ragnaros...
Dec 17th 2010 8:07AM An important point here:
The target the tank initially has is not necessarily the target he'll stick with. Of course raid marks are there to easily and clearly define the kill order, and they should be used, but if they're not don't assume the target the tank has when you click him is the one he's going to stick with, especially if it's the pull. I'll frequently throw a ranged silence at a dps caster and maybe a few other attacks at secondary targets as I run in on other mobs to make sure they don't aggro on the healer, before I switch to the primary target and start my proper threat generation.
Dec 17th 2010 8:03AM What is the expectation on abilities like Feign Death and such these days? Back In The Day (tm) it seemed that the hunters I knew treated it as a real emergency 'argh I pulled aggro' thing. In Wrath I would quite often see hunters approaching the tank's threat level, FDing *very* briefly to wipe threat, then continuing to go all out. I have no idea how it works in Cata, not done any instancing yet and I don't play a hunter main.
This goes for abilities other classes have to wipe or cut threat of course, like a Warlock's Soul Shatter. Do they reduce all current threat permanently, or only until some internal cooldown is up and then suddenly the lost threat is dumped back onto you?
As a tank I worry when people approach me in threat, but have never paid much attention to threat reduction abilities. I assume that people who play those classes know how they work and use them sensibly ;)
