A Mild-Mannered Reporter: Countless marvelous powers {Massively}

Apr 4th 2012 8:37PM I don't think it's fair to simply brush off the power sets added with expansions. I'm sure the powers team didn't just spit them out all at once as crunch time approached on expansion development. They most likely developed them in much the same way as the between sets, but reserved their release until the expansion. So, if you average out their release with those other sets, the current rate of new sets isn't quite as much faster.

Also, Beast Mastery doesn't fit the milieu? Well, that's, like, your opinion, man. Sure would be nice if it wasn't so wolf-heavy, though.

I dunno about the Joystiq thing, but what's going on here seems more like server issues.

Massively Speaking Episode 194: Bookah bookah! {Massively}

Apr 4th 2012 8:08PM I don't know how much autonomy WW has either (and from what I've seen all they do have is creative (but not financial or employment) decisions for publishing their tabletop/LARP games). I just meant that Chris -was- a White Wolf guy (he's not working for the WW imprint at all anymore as far as I know), so I choose to believe that his point of view and decisions are informed by the experience of working with them.

I absolutely agree with you that the presentation could have been clearer, though, because there's plenty of people with an interest in this who don't have the experience necessary for the sort of insight I brought with me. That's why I figured I should share it. :)

Massively Speaking Episode 195: Jokeception {Massively}

Apr 4th 2012 7:02PM @Brianna Royce

Sorry, I meant I posted it to last week's post a couple days ago. Or, a few days now. And the question was more 'do you notice new comments to old posts'. >_>

This is what happens when I try to formulate questions first thing in the morning (my time).

PS- Bees. My God.

Apr 3rd 2012 8:00PM I'm getting my points ready to pay Paragon Studios to make a Bee Blast set!

Out of curiosity, I typed up a rebuttal to the complaints about CCP's attitude with the WoD fashion stuff a couple of days ago, and I was wondering if you get around to reading comments that are so late?

Also, I've got a few CoH shots I'll be sure to send in to One Shots. :)

The Daily Grind: Which MMO doesn't get the respect it deserves? {Massively}

Apr 3rd 2012 8:04AM Well, I guess we could stay with SOE for DCUO? I mean, it gets a lot of hate for the missteps and lacking features it has, but what it does right it does really, really well. It certainly deserves more respect than it gets.

Massively Speaking Episode 194: Bookah bookah! {Massively}

Apr 2nd 2012 12:15AM It didn't seem to me that Chris McDonough (who was with White Wolf long before CCP even formed) was saying, 'Teehee, girls like pretty clothes!' Rather, what I got out of it was, 'We're making sure to hit the notes that made our games the ones that drew women to see the appeal of roleplaying in far larger numbers than any games had previously. Primarily that's always seemed to be that our games are about storytelling, social interaction and personal expression. To that end, having a robust fashion range is important to making sure your character presents themselves the way you want others to see them. Especially if you're playing a Toreador or Ventrue.'

I'm sure everyone at CCP knows plenty of games in the industry have ways to let players dress their characters how they want. The only difference with what they're doing is that they're making sure there's contemporary haute couture for the upper-class, elegant vampire types, and taking what you wear out of the equation for combat prowess. Both of which fit the source material perfectly. Body armour doesn't mean much to undead monsters who find bullets as harmful as you might find getting punched in the thigh by an eight-year old.

Anyway, really like the show nonetheless. I guess I just have more experience with White Wolf so I can read between the lines a little more accurately to their actual intent. Hope you don't mind my ramblings days after the show, I just didn't get around to listening until now.

One Shots: Bringing it back for realsies {Massively}
