Breakfast topic: A long day's journey into Death Knight {WoW}

Aug 2nd 2007 9:36AM I hope they don't make a certain class only available to hardcore raiders. I despise raids and feel that raiders already recieve most content as it is. This doesn't bother me too much, there was enough for me to do to keep me busy and I don't need the highest level gear to be happy. However, if they make the new class only available to raiders I will be really... sad.

120 hours of World of Warcraft {WoW}

Jul 25th 2007 9:35AM For what it is worth, though you may not trust the source in this case, Guiness world records no longer shows the world record on sleep deprivation due to the health risks...

New Blue poster Timbal (not Tseric's replacement) {WoW}

Jul 24th 2007 9:58AM For a long time I tried to defend the official forums, in that it was a few bad apples causing problems. But now it has become so horrid that I feel that it would take an act of god to change things. Every suggestion is flamed, even if it is a fix to a known problem. If that isn't bad, oh lord help the person posting if he posts something not everyone agrees with...

Breakfast Topic: Karma comes around {WoW}

Jul 20th 2007 10:37AM I am not sure if it is karma, but it was kind of fun...

A few weeks ago I was bored so I was just running around with my 70 Hunter. I ended up in Ashenvale and was just site seeing and exploring until eventually I had to log out to go to work.

Well, a few days later I was again in those same woods with my 29 priest to do some leveling. Uusally there is fighting in the woods, but mostly by Splinter tree post, so I tend to stay away from it. Today however I was spotted by three Ally who wanted to ruin my day. They all attacked me - each a mid level 30 - so I did not stand a chance. When I corpse ran I found them camping my body. I shrugged and remembered I had a 70 hunter in the area.

A few minutes later I found them dancing around my body... I wanted to play with them, so I killed them one at a time and laughed while the others ran. There is no better feeling than when you can serve your own justice.

It was mostly dumb luck I had my hunter there. Usually he is so far away from my Alts, by the time I could get him close enough to protect them the threat would be gone...

Welcome to Alterac Valley, you can go AFK now. {WoW}

Jul 17th 2007 9:42AM Leave the current honor system the way it is, where everyone in the map gets a certain amount of honor points, then on top of that, add in a "bonus" honor system, which encourages pvp and player interaction.

For instance:
Increase the honor givin by killing enemy players. And take away the deminishing returns - this is an epic battle and deaths should be a frequent occurance. You should get honor for killing your enemy in a Battle Ground, even if you have done in 4 times over. This would encourage PVP in AV while at the same time making people more involved. To help healers and support classes, you could recieve honor by being in the immediate area of the action. Yes, you could go afk in this area too I suppose, but at least the AFK people near the battle may serve as a meat sheild for those playing.

Another idea I have is for a corpse looting system where every player drops an item that can be turned in for honor points. This item would remain on the corpse for everyone in the area to loot it. But, you have to manually loot it. This way everyone can get extra honor points by looting fallen enemies so that both healers and DPS can get honor for killing the enemy, but people who are AFK will not.

Just some thoughts. If you notice, most of my ideas focus around having players kill each other..,. this requires interaction and insures that you at least have to be near a pvp battle to recieve the bonus honor.

Ask WoW Insider: How would you design your own battleground? {WoW}

Jun 8th 2007 5:30PM I would like to see a battle ground that had an epic battle feel. It would be a massive battle with more than 40 vs 40 players that could go on for days (kind of how A.V. used to be)- though they would have to find a way to give out decent rewards to those who left the battle before it was over.

The two factions would each have a main base - which would be more defended than those in AV and they would also have a outpost. The first goal would be to over take the outpost. To make taking the outpost more difficult there would be a caravan that left the main base to reinforce the outpost in regular intervals. The caravan would, if it reached the outpost, unpack NPC guards and allow player buffs.

The key to victory would be to ambush these caravans to weaken the outpost enough to overrun it. From there you would be able to start the assault on the main base.

This doesn't have to be an instance... it could be setup in a world area but I think the caravan system would add a decent twist.
