Apr 8th 2011 3:23PM I feel bad for Tone Deaf, people can be such jerks. Being straight with people from the get go will help prevent the situation from occuring again. I know we've had punks join our guild and joke about disabilites as a reason for their poor performance...but they read/talked/heard/typed just fine in all the other raids until they messed up! Unfortunately, that kind of immaturity makes it harder on those that have legitimate needs.
I haven't read all the comments, so sorry if someone else has already mentioned this. We had a guild member that was hearing impaired, he wasn't completely deaf but had trouble with certain types of sound and if a lot of people were talking on vent at once he couldn't differentiate the words or voices and it would be confusing. We had a GM and a raid leader as well as 2 other officers. Once he made it known that he had a hearing problem, after his first raid with us, one of the officers would relay messages to him through whispers for the important stuff. Most of the guild was unaware of his disability for a long time and just figured he was a quiet guy.
Being a tank it may be a bit more difficult since you need to communicate too, but it's not impossible. One of our tanks was without a headset for several weeks so he macro'd some of his calls for the fights...such as "need heals", "popped cd" and "switch" and the other tank would work out strat with him in a private chat. Just a little work and you can overcome anything. There are several guilds that go ventless and do impressive work.
Good luck and hopefully you've found a better guild this time!

Nov 14th 2010 8:22AM Warlock Tier 6. I had started playing after watching my husband play and was fairly casual, but when I saw the beauty of that set, I knew I had to have it! Started working on leveling and learning more about my class so I could get that gear! Since retired that toon, but have found sooo many other reasons to stay.
Oct 16th 2010 10:52PM I'd also suggest you reconsider on a SteelSeries mouse...especially if this one is anything like the first WoW mouse they made. Besides being a poor quality product, their customer service is an absolute joke. My WoW mouse started having issues after a few months (random lock ups and turning off mid raid) and it took them 3 months to respond to the first ticket I put in. I responded to their ticket and then the mouse just quit working completely. That was in January and they have yet to respond to ANY of my tickets or emails. Yay, I have a $100 color changing paper weight -.-
Picked up the Razer Naga for $80, had recognition problems at installation and they responded to my email in 6 hours...on a weekend! Issue fixed and they've even checked up on issue twice. Love, love, love this mouse! Just wish that the epic version had been out a few months ago, I wouldn't have thought twice about spending the extra money.
Sep 24th 2010 9:14AM Tried the SteelSeries WoW mouse, loved it while it worked. But only lasted about 6 months and for $100 should have lasted longer. It would randomly stop responding miduse, in game and out of game. Tried on different computers, made sure everything was updated, even reinstalled and didn't update and would still lock up at random...not a good thing mid raid.
Tried to get SteelSeries to support or replace and took them 6 weeks to respond the first time, still waiting 3 months later for a follow up response. Went ahead and bought a Naga...best thing I ever did. I'll never own another SteelSeries product, this Razer rocks!
Sep 7th 2010 3:15PM I did part of the chain on my lvl70 druid and could not finish the chain, so I'd assume you do need to be 80 to complete it. The part I did was a lot of fun! Looking forward to doing it on my shaman later tonight with friends.
Apr 11th 2010 8:52AM I have 4 bank toons, all have frostweave bags and all bank slots, I've even formed two bank guilds to have more space. I have one banker that is solely for clothes. I have a few alts that I'm leveling and keep mats I run across for their professions, I keep off the wall stuff, neat things like the wand that turns you into a furblog, holiday items and of course all the tier gear I've acquired. My bags stay full since I play resto/enhance and none of the gear is interchangeable and I also have a few swap out pieces for different fights...current gear fills 2-22 slotters. I know I have an issue, but I like it!
Mar 4th 2010 6:36PM well scratch my comment... I may have to give ArkInventory another try...it sounds like it should do everything I want it to...
Mar 4th 2010 6:32PM I like the idea of the One Bag addons but have always found them to be a pain to set up to my liking. However, the one bag/inventory addon I can't live without and can't find a suitable replica of is the Warehouse that comes with Carbonite. I don't use Carbonite for anything else and kinda hate that it's such a resource hog, but being able to find mats on an alt without having to sign in to all 6 of them is a huge time saver and prevents me from buying stuff I already have...just wish it was available as a stand alone add on.
Mar 3rd 2010 4:09PM Patiently (well, not really!) awaiting my plushies to show up. Though my UPS tracking history hasn't changed in a few days :(
