Feb 11th 2010 1:35PM Same here. So far the lag has caused us to have to cancel both our Tuesday/Wednesday raids as just trying to get the group formed/logged in/ and zoned in were hour+ debacles.
Looks like this is probably going to end up being a PUG week which sucks because we finally started getting some momentum (and attendance).
Oh well, the joys of client/server games i guess......
Feb 1st 2010 4:33PM I vote for them to add an "allow overgeared party members" option.
That way i could help my buddies and anyone that wants to run with an 80 and anyone who wants to run it old school could do it their way
Feb 1st 2010 4:06PM And wow L2Read for me. It does say not neccesary in the previous post. The rest of my comment would still apply in regards to LFG being at odds with the "experience all the content" misson statement.
Feb 1st 2010 4:02PM Hes not saying it wouldnt be necessary or needed (of course it would as people flock to the expansion). I think what hes getting at is how many of the things players have suggested have been rebuffed with the "we want people on the ground experiencing content" answer that has been so liberally used lately.
Obviously the new LFG (and how it circumvents travel time) would have the same effect on experiencing the content. However disabling the instant teleport would destroy random LFG's.
I think they would go with whats more popular and keep LFG despite it not meshing with what they have stated for other ideas.
Maybe they will make more of the instance quests into chains to keep people in the zones instead of afk qued in Stormwind, or they may do the opposite and have a quest giver at the start of each instance so you get more of the lore when your bouncing between random dungeons.
Jan 2nd 2010 2:16PM Regardless of how they do gear I've started to question how the new system will work out for new players as most of the experiences I've had when trying to get my DPS alt his badges have been horrible. From tanks dropping group if the avg DPS is not over 4k to being called a ninja for needing an item im going to equip (which the accuser wanted to DE) even being vote kicked to doing only 2k dps (if I was in full 232 why would i be in a heroic anyways? I would just assume this is bad luck but after a week of this (4-5 runs a night) I can honestly say that maybe 1 in 5 groups goes smoothly.
Thats not to say the LFG system is entirely flawed as I have had very positive experiencs on both my Prot pally and Disc priest but both of those roles are viewed as much more vital / harder to get.
I was a raving fan of the system until I stepped off of my overgeared mains and into the shoes of a DPS alt that is at the normal gear level for heroics........ Now that ive seen what It will be like for new players I have my doubts that this new system is going to endear new 80's to instances/ raiding
Nov 10th 2009 1:51AM As a father of three the only advice I can give is get used to doing things on your childs schedule. You will still have plenty of free time (infants sleep 75% of the day) but it will not be a set schedule for several months. There will be plenty of times you sit there bored twiddling your thumbs while your baby sleeps but the minute you accept that raid invite to TOC theyre sure to wake up.
Battlegrounds and console games were a lifesaver. Anything that you can pause or just take the deserter debuff is the way to go.
Congratulations on the soon to be baby!
Oct 8th 2009 1:15PM Sure np. That'll be 10g per disenchant
Sep 30th 2009 4:25PM Spring does seem more and more likely (even leaves a little time for a few world events) but It seems weird to unleash an xpac in the spring/summer doldrums every MMO goes through.
Sep 30th 2009 4:15PM This seems fairly fast for a new patch. Though i guess i said that the last few patches so I just need to adjust to the new superfast pace.
So maybe 3.3 for a Christmas present? Whos taking bets....
Sep 29th 2009 3:44PM Blizzard tries to refrain from putting out anything that will fuel the haters. If they post good numbers then its marked up to inflation/shady tactic, If they show even the slightest decline then it bemoans the coming death of WOW.
I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers went up or stayed a little more solid than you would expect after the initial expansion frenzy. I know with how expensive everything is right now I end up playing alot more WOW (sometimes more than i'd like when im bored) because it is a fairly cheap form of entertainment, that i can do at home with my family. Several of my friends have downloaded skype and resubbed for the same reason.
