Oct 10th 2011 9:37PM I agree that the story can be good but if the gameplay isn't there then it still creates a disappointing product. I also believe that if the story and the big lore moments end up falling short that the gameplay won't stay interesting for long. I used to be among those that really loved the lore of Warcraft and was put off when I seen others bashing it. As the expansions have rolled out, I have found myself becoming more disenchanted with the lore. We have had so much new technology added to the game to tell the stories and that has been really positive. I don't think, however, some of the big lore moments have been told well and we haven't seen what we have wanted to. This includes dead characters constantly returning and our lore heroes being portraied as weak in the rare instances that we get involved with them. (ie) Thrall has been turned into an impotent hero every since WotLK. The sentinels are another example of characters who have had their soul ripped away. Put some pride and accuracy back into the lore. It's not always about mechanics.

WoW Moviewatch: Operation Gnomeregan {WoW}

Oct 19th 2010 12:27PM I'm a little disappointed that more of the event hasn't happened yet. Echo Isles and Operation Gnomergan was a nice start. The 2 minute conversations between the world leaders is all well and fine but if you want to call that a "phase" then I think it has gone on long enough now. I'm ready for the real action to start.

Oct 5th 2010 1:14PM I just finished up the Goblin starting experience through the Lost Isles. The final quest has Thrall send you with a message to Garrosh Failscream. After Garrosh is done berating you he opens the message containing a SI:7 badge and becomes visibly shaken. It doesn't come right out and say why but I'm assuming Thrall knows Garrosh tipped off the Alliance as to his whereabouts and this was his way of saying you're going to deal with me when I get back form saving the world,yes? Garrosh has been begging for a beatdown for a while.

Apr 28th 2010 11:09PM I like the change for the most part. The only thing I am apprehensive about is 10 and 25 mans sharing the same lock out. Saying that 10 mans shouldn't get the same loot if they are of the same difficulty is just selfish and illogical. Why shouldn't something of equal difficulty not reap the same reward? You bring more players for a 25 man you get more badges, more money, and more epics per kill. If that is not good enough then that sounds like a personal issue to me.

People had a fit when we dropped form 40 down to 25 players and cried it was the end of WoW. Well we made it through that just fine and everyone ended up happy after all didn't they? Same thing here. End of story.

Apr 28th 2010 6:31PM Even if our hopes are in vain.. I can guarantee you that your not getting another raid besides the Ruby Sanctum between now and Cataclysm.

1) The Ruby Sanctum that serves as a small lead in to Cataclysm is not a distant dream.

2) The beta is nearing/near. What is the logic of introducing a second larger raid that would distract from players wanting to get into a beta? More players in the beta is a better situation for Blizzard to get things done instead of letting it linger.

Apr 28th 2010 6:22PM Also of note is how the industry is evolving in order to cite how things could change in other areas. Games used to all be subscription based models. We all paid to play. Recently we have had games to branch out to being free to play with the introduction of micro-transactions being introduced. This took a failing and stagnant game like DDO and turned it into a now successful game. The way betas are conducted could just as easily change too. Cataclysm has been in development since before WotLK launched. Who is to say its not past the top secret phases and just ready to throw scores of players at for the tweaking?
It is just safer to never say never.

I put my money on the beta. Its coming sooner or later no matter how many people nay say it.

Scattered Shots: Hunter pets in Cataclysm {WoW}

Apr 15th 2010 10:47AM I'm torn on the pet problem.

To be honest, I am not that excited about having weaker versions of another class's ability. It seems like a fine idea for 5 mans but by the time you get around to raiding you will be sitting with abilities that are getting very little use.

I wouldn't mind all the pets being on even ground and redoing the trees so you can spec every pet in the game to tank, dps, or be the jack of trades master of none. Everyone would just take what pets they thought looked the coolest to them and no singular pet would be every where you looked.
