Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 11:07PM So let me get this straight? A male character, in a video game, flirts with a female character, also in a video game. And this incites rage and "sexism" cries.
So sexism has become "this guy flirted with me! Sexist pig!" For shame, people. For shame.

12 Days of Joyswag: Nintendo 3DS plus eight games (and a ton of Skylanders) {Joystiq}

Dec 25th 2011 11:51AM I play porta-games pretty much anywhere. I've been caught multiple times playing it in front of my TV at home, and have been known to ride a bus with a porta-game in hand.

Dec 25th 2011 11:46AM I wish I owned a car. Would make the daily commute so much easier.

Flameseeker Chronicles: Memory lane and the delights of anticipation {Massively}

Why? Why exclude a majority of people from beta participation because the didn't bother to grind out all the titles?

In any case, I don't think I'll participate in the beta, either. It'll kill me not to, but that initial feeling of wonder and adventure that I'm praying for from this game just can't be ruined for me, not this early.

Need for Speed: The Run review: Drive angry {Joystiq}

Nov 22nd 2011 1:09PM @JoRo1986
EA Black Box did Hot Pursuit 2, Underground, Most Wanted, Carbon, and the Skate games. Maybe they're not your cup of tea, but I personally thought all of those were great.
But I can't say I'm too surprised this game got a less than stellar review. The demo was fairly boring, the car handled poorly. Looks like another NFS I'll be skipping, then.

Breakfast Topic: How do you adapt WoW for younger players? {WoW}

Nov 22nd 2011 1:02PM I honestly wouldn't think WoW needs to be adapted for younger people, at this point. It's already incredibly easy to get into, has an easy learning curve, and doesn't require you to get into Heroic Raids in order to continue playing the game at max level. It's got newbie hints, the official website has plenty of information about the game, and a link to wowhead.
The only thing they really need to be taught before playing is proper internet etiquette or, at the very least, internet safety.

Be thankful you don't have to play these Rejected Darkmoon Faire Minigames {WoW}

Nov 10th 2011 6:02PM @Aspect_rei_zero Wipe on Gunship
Personal favorite because, sadly, I've actually done that.
Twice.
On different characters.
With different groups.
During different expansions.

The War of the Worlds review: House of 1,000 corpses {Joystiq}

Nov 3rd 2011 6:17PM @MrAlex
That's a fair point, sure, but the review only cited one example of clunky, and otherwise mentioned how the game was punishingly difficult. To run around and praise one game for punishing you for mistepping with a near instant death, then pan another for punishing you for mistepping with an instant death, seems wrong to me. Especially considering, at least in the GiantBomb Quick Look with two of the devs who made this game, they intended it to be frustratingly difficult. Difficult to the point that one of the devs who designed one sequence took ten-something minutes to finish it (and resorted to a debug menu to skip past it in the interest of saving some time).

The Daily Grind: What's the most iconic MMO city? {Massively}

Nov 1st 2011 6:20PM Kaineng City in Guild Wars: Factions. There are very few things there I don't know how to get to off the top of my head. I could direct guildies, or alliance members, to a specific vendor while being on another continent entirely.
And Ironforge, from World of Warcraft, but that's more simply because during LK and early Cata I had a bad connection and computer that did not allow me into cities like Dalaran or Stormwind.

Volition staffer: Red Faction: Armageddon's problem was 'consistency' {Joystiq}
