May 9th 2011 11:32PM This title is misleading - It is only AT&T Android Phones. If you look at the same article elsewhere, it states that it is beating the Motorola Atrix and HTC Inspire, both newer phones and each costs 2x and 4x that of the 3GS, respectively. The only two I would even compare would be the 3GS and the Inspire since the additional cost of the Inspire ($99 vs. $49) is justified by the Inspire having 4G capabilities. Nevertheless, looking at the AT&T website, a refurbished 3GS is going for $0.01 (with cosmetic issues) and $19.99 (without cosmetic issues).
Compounding the issue, AT&T is the only one who can sell the 3GS, and only recently got into the Android game. This article is misleading and only helps to fan the flames of iPhone v. Android. You guys need to recognize that both have their pluses and their minuses. I use both and utilize each for something different, knowing that each has its own faults. Stop trying to keep the war going and simply know that each is good and bad in its own way. God!
Apr 6th 2010 6:56PM I am happy and sad.
Happy because some of the cool talents will move from Blood to one of the other specs... Cleave affect on Scourge Strike?
Sad because some of the cool things will leave the other two... Bone shield going to blood?
One thing I can understand about this is, with ArPen going away as a stat but not as talents, Blood's physical based dps will drop sharply. This means their overall dps would be way too low to compare them to the dps of Frost and Unholy without the ArPen.
What I want to know is, what happens to all the cool things that every spec has? Icebound Fort only going to be Blood? What about an "OS" moment? All paladins have a bubble for those moments... does that mean they will keep IF the way it is, where all specs have it? And will Blood buff Frost Pres? Wacky to have Frost Pres buffed in Blood Spec.
(Then again, they may switch Blood and Frost Presences so Blood is the threat Presence and Frost increases your chance to hit with 1-handed weapons. Sooo many questions, sooo much info...)
Feb 25th 2010 1:33PM How about these?
Magnetic Rounds - Increased damage to mechanical foes. Decreased damage to all other targets.
Ammo of Freedom - Slight chance (maybe like 1-5%) to free you from snaring abilities. Can only trigger this effect once every 1.5 minutes.
Bloodthirsty Rounds - Slight increased damage but you take damage with each attack (think Seal of Blood back in 3.1)
Wild Shells - Increases damage done by all pets by 3% for 15 seconds - applied with each shot and increases damage for even Ghouls, Shadowfiends, Fire and Water Elementals and even sneaky Warlock demons.
Corrosive Ammo - Decreases magical resistances by a flat number or percentage. Either stacks with or duplicates a warlock's curse of elements.
Just some thoughts...
Feb 14th 2010 8:32PM Maybe it's not me doing something wrong, but the other healers... or maybe me...
I am in a 10man guild and the other healer with me is either a Druid or a Priest. Both are better geared than I am.
That being said, when I am healing the tank and I start to drop to around 50% mana, I pop divine plea. 50% loss in healing means i crit for 11-13k. The other healer, sometimes, can't make up the difference in healing. Even if I use Avenging Wrath or my 2set T10, it doesn't offset enough for me to maintain healing the entire fight with using pure HL. If the druid is not healing, but is going critchicken, I have him innervate me. That, along with my cooldowns, allows me to keep HL for an entire fight. Otherwise, I go OOM or the tank dies when I pop Divine Plea.
Feb 14th 2010 8:26PM Black Knight is soooo last patch...
But, anywhooo... Yes, a Holy Light build will allow lots of AoE depending on your haste and your timing. When I was first healing Black Knight, I had trouble with it. I realized, I beacon the tank and HL everyone. This allows for them to take a bit more damage before they get a heal (due to longer casting time) and I don't run out of mana because Phase 3 only lasts a few seconds.
The first HL is always the worst. But once you have Judgement of the Pure and Light's Grace, it doesn't really matter how much mana you waste because the fight is over in 15-25 seconds any ways.
Note that I play different than most. I don't stack only intellect. I stack intel, intel+sp and intel+mp5 (but i am a socket bonus fiend). I don't stack haste, which is recommended if you are going to be working for a pure HL build. I read that you should have around 900 haste, but that is for really high end raiding.
Also, I don't switch specs for fights. I like having a good amount of intel for fights where I need to spam HL and have a higher spell power for FoL when I need to spam that. So, my spec is more of a FoL spec, but I have topped all Healing charts with better geared priests and druids, so it seems to work, somehow.
Check out the new instances when you come back and try healing those. They are harder for pallys because of their AoE, but we make it through most of em.
Feb 14th 2010 6:44PM I think that is wholly dependent on your group make up. I know that I can't keep casting HL through an entire fight without a Druid's Innervate. If I don't have a Druid to Innervate me, I jump over to casting FoL with the occasional HL mixed in when I know there is high damage coming.
Take Saurfang, for example. There is low damage coming through that entire fight until you reach the first Mark of the Champion. Once that comes out, its HL for the rest of the fight. Even with stacking so much intellect and not having a Druid's Innervate, if my group doesn't have the DPS to down him before a 3rd mark comes out, we are toast because I will go OOM. Even with 40k mana and 40% crit.
I understand that HL is the overall better choice, but I think it is situational. I healed all of ToC with spamming FoL. More Intellect alone does not a better Healadin make.
Feb 4th 2010 11:10AM All I wanted was something like the Macbook Air where the screen swiveled and could be used like a tablet. It is thiner, faster, has more space, isn't limited to the app store, and knowing apple, they could have made a badass version of os x with touch capabilities to make it better. You could even have a program the changed it to work like a big iPod touch, but when you were done playing, you could still use it as a device to do work, or different types of play...
Feb 4th 2010 10:21AM Peoples, you do have to remember that general economics comes into play here. I don't want to play the devil's advocate, but I'm gonna do it. Blizzard is trying to keep the major player base happy. If that means models get re-used so they can meet a time deadline, so be it. We all have been chomping at the bit to kill the Lich King since Wrath was released, so for them to get this out and done was something they have been working on for a long time. What is better: an epic battle or new models? New Druid models or weapon models? Cut scene at the death or Arthas or weapon models? This is what blizz has to think about, and we get pissed at them for the littlest things.
Granted, we all woul have loved to see different models, ones that matched the flavor text or even flavor text on more than just the heroic versions of the weapons, but when their major focus is now towards keeping us all happy in 6 months when Arthas is old news, they gotta cut out the unnecessary. Sorry peoples, but the real world is harsh, I know!
