CCP NEEDS to perma-ban this guy. And if they give a sh*t about the gaming industry they have to start policing their game.
This is not about hating on EVE or its population... but like dlambert said here is a precedent for IRL bs with this game, and it *will* get out of hand. And it *will* be widely publicized. And the slavering hordes of conservatives *will* scream for the end of gaming because "omg look! we were right! games are making people violent!"

I think people look at cash shops and think "I'm going to spend more than $15 dollars here a month" ergo its more expensive. BUT. What they are not considering is you aren't obligated to spend. So if you set a $15 a month budget, and end up not spending that much EVERY month, then that money could roll over to the next month for spending. Whereas a sub game pisses that 15 away no matter what.
With an F2P I can target what I want to spend money on and then not buy anything for a bit, instead of being obligated to throw money down a hole no matter how much I'm playing at a given time.
Most of this ''more expensive' banter stems from many people not being able to stop themselves from spending too much money.
Jan 23rd 2012 5:26PM @(Unverified) "Our story is so damn epic (unfinished) that we need to split it in TTWWWOOO (fiiiinisssh iiit)!"
I also love how they are adding all kinds of amazing, innovating features such as... guild banks! and... a scalable UI! Be still my beating heart.
Jan 23rd 2012 5:13PM @Doctalen They stated at some point that anyone who could run the original guild wars could run guild wars 2... as in, they were guaranteeing a graphics setting that would accommodate old machines.
Jan 22nd 2012 8:09AM So I'm looking at the list of features... and the new battlecruisers are on there? I haven't played in several months.. maybe the hype machine has mislead me but I thought they were gonna be implemented for winter 2011?

Yeah, that was all just code for "I want to visually tell who has crappier gear than me, so I can gank them with ease."
Honestly, this makes PvP more fun, because you could be walking into a clever trap.. and heaven forbid we learn to deal with situations instead of exploiting weak new players.

^This. At the risk of getting bitched at by the hardcore players.. not everyone secretly wants to be out in nullsec space. And taking capabilities away from highsec/lowsec producers is just going to lose them players.
EdmundDante has the right idea.. how about adding *more* capability to nullsec without stripping the fun from other areas of the game?
Aug 1st 2011 6:54AM I used to think F2P was great.. but I'm starting to have second thoughts. I'm tired of being able to play games for 10 minutes before realizing I'm 'finished' unless I pay out the nose for some stupid resource. Which you go through so fast that the game ultimately ends up costing more per month than a traditional mmo.
Tbh, I would rather just pay a monthly fee, be given access to ALL the content, and play it as long as I damn well please. F2Ps are starting to become synonymous with ripoff/waste-of-time in my mind.
Jul 26th 2011 10:31PM @Eric Francis
I agree with everything you just said except to F2P part. it's more like a pay-to-play, payMORE-to-win..
Jun 23rd 2011 7:06AM @Irem How can you say you have respect for them? For a long time now, CCP has provided means for people to buy ingame currency and even already-trained characters legitimately on their own forums. With enough cash you can buy a carrier pilot and more Isk than you can wave a stick at... on the same day you start your account.
If that's not buying power, I dunno what is. I just think it's funny that everyone is acting like the MACRO-transaction store is some new phenomenon to CCP policy.
