Apr 3rd 2012 11:58PM Sometimes I feel like the only WoW player who also plays LOTRO. Every time someone talks about scenarios, I'm reminded of skirmishes in LOTRO. They're basically solo dungeons that you're given a "pet" for, a helper that you can spec into various abilities. You can have a tank, a melee dps, a ranged dps, a healer, a buffer, etc. They use these skirmishes to tell side stories in the LOTR universe that they can't change the greater world for. One of my favourites is the sacking of Bree. Not only do they make it winter in Bree for this skirmish (it's always spring/summerish in that part of the game), they tell the story about what happens to make everyone so paranoid by the time the hobbits get back. It's very engaging and I really hope Blizzard uses their scenarios to do something similar.
Apr 3rd 2012 8:19PM I was impressed with all the costumes but the wonder twins made me laugh out loud, no lie.
Apr 3rd 2012 12:40PM All jokes aside, if this does go to live (instead of being a beta joke, which would be sad!), I expect that you'll be able to purchase a grenade of some sort from the Faire itself and use it to solo the rabbit. All of the Faire events have been for solo players and I'd be a little disappointed if they made a raid encounter for the faire. I really want this to be connected to a game or something you buy with tickets!
Apr 2nd 2012 12:02PM I feel like this is an unfair assessment of how Blizzard writes their story. They play an extremely long game and even though it feels like they aren't doing anything, when you look back you can see how the story has grown and matured.
The problem is that we tend to want things now and Blizzard tends to think of things in the span of years. Consider for a moment the Onyxia/Nefarion/Deathwing storyline. If you really sit back and look at the story from the beginning, it's quite interesting and complex. But we only ever saw bits and pieces of it over the course of 7 years of playing. That's a really long time for a story to go on.
Mar 28th 2012 1:50PM I noticed the 'random skin' thing a while back. If you use the potion and you're not close enough to someone for a copy, it just throws a random transformation on you.
I'm guessing if the herb thing worked once, it doesn't work anymore.
Mar 27th 2012 5:39PM This is exactly what I think of every time I consider Azshara's fight. Those mages of hers would be too busy trying to impress her to do anything really useful.
Mar 22nd 2012 1:30AM I want this to be real and yet I fear that I cannot be! IT CAN NOT BE!
Mar 21st 2012 12:53AM @Pyro I sort of feel like you're missing the point about the whole Scott/Knifes/Ramona thing. What he did to the girls was -wrong- and he knew it. Starting to date one person while still dating another is going to end up hurting someone's feelings. It was not flattering at all to Scott to show him in that light and even though he tried to atone for his mistakes, you never get the idea that what he did was something that decent people do.
Mar 20th 2012 12:13AM I noticed that too! I don't even work here and I'm so proud of this website. I love you WoW Insider folks. lessthanthree!
Mar 19th 2012 1:35PM Also, Orca for swimming? YES PLZ. And a stag! I've wanted a stag in travel form FOREVER!
