Jan 26th 2012 4:27PM I still remember my level 50 Priest quest in Azshara and earning my Blessed Prayer Beads. That made it one of my favorite zone pre BC. I'd love more class quest in game as they really do make you feel more invested in your character.
This was driven home when I completed the 1st stage of my legendary Rogue daggers. Each step of the quest line made me feel much more Rogue like and was tons of fun to boot. I also wish they could keep the Gilneas phased event as a repeatable training ground. Maybe even make the stealth run to the boss a time event / achievment.
Dec 29th 2011 9:42AM Have to say it...sorry.
Cesar. You mad bro?
I play a combat Rogue and while we dipped a bit I feel we have been and always will be competitive. I routinely out dps people in much better gear that play classes that should in theory be beating me. Besides that playing a Rogue is tons of fun. Every year is our year. :)
Nov 2nd 2011 3:34PM Luke I tried it as Disc and just did not generate damage to pull if off. Especially the last fight as you need to burn down the adds quickly as to be ready to move from the insta-breath of death.
Nov 2nd 2011 3:27PM For Phase two I just used Holy Nova and ran through without much damage at all if timed right. Dispersion is good to refill mana or help if you have to wait for the damage clouds to go away. The rest of the fights are pretty easy and straightforward.
I got Thyrinar down after quite a few tries . Finally settled on a 10/0/31 build.
As the apparitions are useless on this fight I went for survival and mana saving talents. I also used Power Auras to keep Power Word: Shield on cool down and also used it to alert for the Twilight Restoration cast. I made sure to focus on getting the adds down quickly. Psychic Scream, Mind Spike, Mind Blast usually worked. From there I just kited flames around the outside and tried to end up near boss if possible to make sure I did not miss a Shield and to hit him with a silence when possible to get a break from his damage and heal up if needed.
As an added note Glyph of Power Word: Shield and Glyph of Prayer of Mending were nice to have when I had to heal. Pet and Dispersion as needed for mana and survival. Do not panic when he gets low (or you get low) keep Devouring Plague on boss as much as possible and keep killing adds and boom there ya go. Was a pain but worth it.
Aug 12th 2011 2:22PM Gratz! Even though you are a Mage :P This from a Shadow Priest. I too am on Sen'jin and almost craped my pants when I saw that sweet mount flying over Stormwind. It was made better by my daughter hating that the Alliance got it first as she plays horde.
Jun 22nd 2011 1:01PM I used Lifegrip on Al'Akir this week when our Tank was having issues with getting booted off the platform. You shall not die! Sweetness.
Oct 20th 2010 3:35PM I have had a chance to get a couple of ICC runs in on my Shadow priests post nurf and have had no issues with mana as long as I keep my shadow fiend on cooldown. It is also a pretty nice damage boost as it accounted for 6.8% of my total damage done last run.
Not sure if its just me or is mind searnowthe no cast list for multi trash mobs? It seems I do much better multi dotting mobs and then switching to focus fire on the marked targets.
Single target fights we do well and on motion fights we also perform well. It appears the shadowy apperitions damage scale accordingly with motion. We are still on the low end for caster damage however and we will see how we fair against overall dps after the recently announced increase to hunters damage.
Jun 30th 2010 5:04PM This problem seemed exacerbated when our uber geared Pally tank was being healed or actually shielded by my Disc Priest and his uber bubbles of greatness. He was taking absolutely zero damage and kept yelling about mana to the point where I had to try to remember NOT to shield him at times (His request...grrrrrr).
You know how hard that is for a Disc Priest? Where for art thou o Warrior tank? :) Holy Priest should be the only ones complaining about mana in my opinion :P
