Aug 31st 2008 9:47AM ehh to each their own, good sir :)
I'm glad you're happy with it, however my experiences in first person shooters and wow after being a WASD gamer is I just couldn't switch to it...would just cause general pain in the asses/wasn't more efficient in some way. I have 72 key combinations easily accessable not moving with WASD, so it's not like it adds anything.(ctrl+shift+alt+anything from q-Y, a-H, and z-N, 1-6)
Sometimes a key would lock and you'd have to switch modes...also the keyboard seemed to have problems with 3 inputs at once (such as ctrl + shift + keys).
Some people can certainly get used to it though.
Aug 30th 2008 8:18AM Honestly guys, piss off.
With DKP style/loyalty friendly systems, thats who gets stuff first. It is for this reason druids get rogue gear sometimes, too.
Sheesh. Grow up. Hunter friendly weapon does not mean hunter only. If Blizz intended to lock it away from rogues they would have done so.
Aug 28th 2008 5:55PM Uh, no good sir. You are incorrect.
I've played wow pretty hardcore (used to be in a guild that was in top 10 for the US), and working up in Eve.
Everyone has their preference and reasons. I don't want to go back to wow because of daily quest grind, and sadly Eve has some grind aspects too (although lesser to me)
They are different games, apples to oranges here. However, the playerbase is about the same (wow has 22-32 thou active on any single server at any given time, eve has the same on its)...but players in Eve can openly grief players a little bit easier than Wow. Also, Eve is more long-term....everything is based off your character's age in the end. You can't just grind hardcore and be the #1 guy in sunwell gear even in a few months, so to speak.
Wow on the other hand, is not mindless. If you do actual serious raiding it does get complicated and the boss encounters in wow are the most unique of any game I have ever played hands down. Almost every fight from Karazhan through sunwell has some unique and creative aspects of both fighting and positioning. The "24/7 pot chugging" I don't like. Not that it was hard for ME to handle the encounters but the overall encounters are not just "mash button and things die". Give the game some credit here.
However, you can progress in Eve when you are offline. Set a skill to train for a week, come back a week later, and it';s trained. In wow, you cannot.
Aug 27th 2008 7:44AM hey, what about engineering?
It's not like healers would go that for spell reflectors or anything in addition, right?
Honestly, nothing wrong with it. Especially when I do rogue vs rogue duels too it often comes down to a bandage tick.
Aug 26th 2008 10:04PM Well now, see what happens when you let a fire mage try to make you popcorn?
Aug 23rd 2008 2:14PM don't talk crap you don't know about.
They aren't using Blizzard's IP, they're merely taking available internet information and putting it on the phone.
If you're not a lawyer, don't talk crap about what you perceive blindly defending blizzard.
Aug 18th 2008 12:33AM no, Parody is not a grey area.
Satire is a part of Parody as well.
Many things are fair use, and just because something uses a likeness doesn't mean they can even necessarily construe that it relates to Blizzard. If Blizzard tried to claim ownership someone can easily point out that Dungeons and Dragons and its ideas have been around for years, and technically nothing Blizzard has done is copyrightable in that sense because it's not even an original idea. Not to be mixed up with patents.
If blizzard were to go after them it would be just like when they've taken down other things that add value. Blizzard legal is truly that idiotic.
Aug 2nd 2008 5:30PM It's hard to say where warhammer will end up now really. If they had kept going down their current path without removing stuff to make release date it could have possibly been a wow competition. Not 100%, but definitely a possiblity.
As of now, I can't predict it at all, but I'd say it's less likely. I do suspect people will leave wow for war though, and in far greater amounts than to AOC.
Jul 16th 2008 6:10AM Honestly folks, it's tough to say about the cheat death thing.
Yes, it was a bit OP. I admit. However, I'd gladly trade cheat death for a working vanish anyday. The darn thing doesn't even work 100% in pve, let alone pvp.
