Apple 'Tablet PC' manufactured by Foxconn, shipping in Q1? {Engadget}

Oct 7th 2009 9:04AM Has anyone done the math on this? A 6"x9" tablet would have a diagonal screen size of 10.8". 10.6" indicates a very similar form factor, slightly smaller than 6"x9".

WarCry on Zul'Aman and "logical loot" {WoW}

Jul 25th 2007 4:15PM It always bothered me how I couldn't simply walk over and pluck the obviously not-going-to-be-used-by-him staff or other item from a freshly killed mob.

Maybe some of that will change, but I doubt it.

2.1 PTR patch notes [updated] {WoW}

Apr 13th 2007 2:03PM .. and not a damn thing about supporting OpenAL for surround sound in Vista.

When are they going to support that now that DirectSound no longer supports Surround sound in Vista?

The coming addon apocalypse {WoW}

Dec 1st 2006 10:36AM I checked. Auctioneer 3.9 is up on the site listed. Are you saying you tried it and this new version is not working?

That version was updated on 11/03/06. Is that possible?

New Zboard coming in time for expansion {WoW}

Oct 5th 2006 9:26AM 3 words:

No Vista Support.

We're in Rc1 now. You would think they would have drivers, but they're taking the line that Vista isn't released yet, so no driver.

Sure, there's a supposed work-around to try to jimmy the drivers in, but with UAC, it's a crap-shoot, one that I could not get to work.

I disconnected it (WoW keyset and all) and put in my closet in favor of a Logitech G15. I can't tell you how much this has made my game better and no headaches Driver works perfectly under Vista. Plus, a handy LCD shows my DPS, Ammo remaining, Durability %, etc. Not to mention the ability to create 0 or more macros in the software that may repeat if desired. 18 Keys on the left that you can bind like Alt-Shift-Q, Alt-Shift-W, etc. Thanks for the XP SP2 support, Ideazon, sorry but I am no longer using your product and cannot recommend it for anyone using Vista.

New switch puts an end to exploding batteries {Engadget}

Sep 21st 2006 10:59AM This is a non-issue. No switch is going to prevent a fire in the kinds of problems that caused the Sony batteries to fail. The problem was with contamination of metal pieces in the manufacturing process, which could cause a short-circuit within the battery itself- essentially causing a heat-building short-cicuit within the battery. No external switch, thermal or otherwise will prevent a short like this.

Only quality control at the manufacting plant, or maybe a redesign would prevent this in the future.
