Totem Talk: Enhancement shaman, welcome to patch 4.3 {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2011 8:54PM Well put, Josh. A thank you to Rouncer is the very least the Enhancement community could do for him, and your thank you here is absolutely fantastic. Rouncer, thank you for all of your hard work through the years. You will be missed.

Faces of BlizzCon: Guildmates tighten bonds at BlizzCon meetups {WoW}

Oct 25th 2011 10:57PM Blaaaargh *is* Blizzcon. He's such a Blizzcon icon that I think he should be the in-game pet for Blizzcon 2012.

Lisa, too bad you didn't stop by on Saturday, Big Crits had 28 members in attendance at this year's 'con. Or perhaps, too bad we didn't all shuffle down to chat with you when you were shooting pics for this article. Hope to catch up with you next year!

Big Crits web series season 3 is live {WoW}

Feb 16th 2011 11:28PM Hey Titusx, thanks for the props. Definitely remember you from your comments while I was writing at WI. I'm trying to find time to get back to blogging about Enhancement, I miss writing about it. I miss writing, in general, come to think of it.

And while Orc is technically the better class according to theorycrafting, I just love being a troll!

Totem Talk: Enhancement's path to victory in patch 4.0.1 {WoW}

Oct 11th 2010 8:03AM Fatsephy, I don't agree with your statement. First, a blend of haste and AP has never been the way to go for Enhance. In fact, Agi hasn't been our killer stat since the time between 3.0 and 3.1, that was after Str was removed as beneficial and before we started AP stacking. Then we stacked AP until ToGC gear levels, at which point stcking haste was the way to go.

Haste held strong, but come 4.0.1 its not one of our top two. If you're going to blend anything you should mix Agi & Mastery.

While Mastery willbe good, it's a far cry from the all-around benefits of Agi. I'm sticking to my recommendation of Agi stacking and abandoning haste. If you have evidence to the contrary I would definitely like to see it to be proven otherwise, for the benefit of all who read this article.

Totem Talk: Enhancement's path to victory in patch 4.0.1 {WoW}

Oct 9th 2010 12:58PM It's definitely worth subscribing to the EJ thread, there are far more smarter theorycrafters there than in my head that's swirling around with a bajillion other things. Having said that, Elemental Precision is not shaping up to be a good talent for Enhancement. First, we won't have Spirit on our gear. Second, we shouldn't ever reforge to Spirit. Third, it looks like the bonus to hit is for additional Spirit over your baseline. So far, not so good.

As we get closer to the expansion I'll dive in deeper to 85. Right now I'm focused on getting a heroic Halion 25 kill before the patch!

Totem Talk: Enhance me {WoW}

Aug 1st 2010 5:11PM Morning glory, thank you for the constructive criticism. If I'm reading the stats from your link, you're suggesting that based on the top 200 ranked logs per spec on WoL, enhancement sitting in the middle is indicative of not scaling well? I have to disagree that enhance is the worst scaling spec -- just ask any elemental shaman. Moreover, to your point going from 7k to 17k I think shows the level of scaling enhancement shamans benefit from.

Lastly, the stats linked are the extreme outliers. Maybe running some sims with different levels of gear would do better to prove this point one way or another. For example, does a 5% increase in gear score translate to a 10% increase in dps? I'd do this but I'm too busy "keeping the freaks in check" so I'll leave it to you.

As for calling this little more than a "gloss-over" of information that's available on Elitist Jerks, I think you're missing the point here. This person switched over to enhance just a few weeks ago. Did you catch that? If you're new to enhancement, where do you go for information? The Theorycrafting Think Tank article at EJ is far too outdated. The 3.3.3 thread has been archived. The "simple questions simple answers" thread is over 62 pages. The BiS gear setup and discussion is 7 pages, and reads like a meta-game for EnhSim as opposed to offering quick advice, and there are no other current resources available for a new enhancer.

It's one thing for players who are deep in the enhancement life-cycle, who've played it for months, or years. It's another coming into it cold and needed resources. I've played enhancement for... wow has it been 3+ years? yup, over three years. I suspect you've played enhance for more than one month. What would you say to a fellow enhancement brother that comes to you for advice?

Would you tell him to "sim it" and look it up on EJ? You could do that. Or you could give a damn and offer someone concrete relevant advice they can implement quickly and easily. Most players just need a quick-start guide to get them going, and they'll figure the rest out from there. Which is what I've done here for them, and hopefully others will benefit from it as well.

Cataclysm Beta: Enhancement talent preview {WoW}

Jul 15th 2010 8:19PM From what I've heard, Mr. Clean is right. Though I'm not in the beta (as noted above BLIZZARDAREYOUREADINGTHIS?!) It's consistent with the way Blizzard does % buff/debuff stacking.
