Apr 13th 2011 4:39PM And fire mages thought they had it bad with RNG...
11 mind flays with no orb? Oh yeah. It happens.
Mar 14th 2011 2:07AM Last I heard....bears were taking 2 stam/dodge gems to meet the meta requirement, and the rest of the gems were either stam or stam/agi.
Agi = dodge+AP+crit
Dodge = dodge.
I miss something?
Feb 26th 2011 1:33PM Generally speaking, our guild has never had a defined Caller... it's always been our RL handling everything. Granted, we have our healer officer calling for specific healer CDs (hymns, tranq, etc), and our ranged officer call for fight-specific things (i.e., pushbacks for adds on Cho'gall).
Otherwise, our raid leader calls timers, events, switches, other pertinent information. We all know him and trust him to make the right calls.
Feb 9th 2011 6:40PM I'd also really like to know where you got those stat weights. Crit/mastery obviously have a healthy relationship, but everything I'm reading still has haste on top.
Jan 7th 2011 6:03PM We lost an entire raid week to this. This week, those in our guild that were having issues got Smoothping. So far it's been incredible, they've all said their latency is amazingly low and they aren't having DC issues anymore.
Give it a shot!
Dec 29th 2010 6:34PM @Pyromelter
You told me to read my own post. Found that amusing :)
Dec 29th 2010 5:51PM Clearly, you didn't read the article, and haven't done any research whatsoever on current PP standings for shadow priests. If you're going to argue what was said, please cite some references or math you've done that would disprove what Fox has written.
(Any major theorycrafting site will prove you wrong right now.)
Dec 29th 2010 5:48PM Thanks for the article, Fox. I just wrote a huge long post about this on my guild forum today. :)
The argument behind hit not being as valuable comes from the normalization of hit vs. intellect. In Wrath, hit had a huge PP number, and with the complete reset of combat rating's scaling, hit becomes more valuable as other stats increase.
To borrow Tedv's TL;DR over on EJ:
- DoTs are much more of our damage.
- Missing a DoT refresh has a much lower on DPS relative to missing a nuke.
- Therefore, hit is less valuable than it would be when nukes were a larger portion of damage.
However, I'm of the opinion that a missed MB, for example, can completely destroy any synergy we have with our mastery.
It all largely depends on the player. There's a "reaction time" window where it has to be realized a spell has missed, and instantly recast.
Nov 24th 2010 5:57PM It is far, far more valuable now. You want a 100% uptime of the buff we now get, so I'd suggest forging mastery until that is attainable.
Nov 24th 2010 3:39PM Don't forget the nerf to Twisted Faith. No longer increases Mind Flay damage by 4% when a target has SW:P on it.
