Jan 21st 2012 5:33PM I call bullshit on this: " when players geared up with basic platemail of invulnerability, chainmail of fortification, and katanas of vanquishing." Uo players mostly wore GM cloathing, which set ("archer" plate, full plate, chain w/ mixed studded) changed upon which patch was going on, but unless it was server down, nobody was going out with a vanq kat and invuln plate when two starter mages could gank you with MB and take it all.
Jan 21st 2012 5:29PM What time during UO were you playing that people were actually wearing invuln plate and vanq Kats as a norm? Were you friends with dupers? Even in the height of spidercamp (before the vanq drop levels were adjusted to stop dropping off warriors and to appear only on queens and justicars) none of these items were common enough that you'd ever dream of going out in them.
Jan 19th 2012 5:15PM @GreenElf Been a wile since you played it? Thats not the same stonekeep. The orignal Stonekeep was locked in 4 directions, and didn't have that interface at the bottom. Also the character models were created from live action video, and looked better then this game.
Dec 27th 2011 8:30AM @(Unverified) Shadowbane had a wide range of races. Centaurs, Birdmen, Minotaurs, vampires, and wights, all with very different gameplay changes.
Dec 26th 2011 5:39PM You have to have purchased at least one steam game to be eligible. If you get 7 peices of coal, you are better off trading it on steamtrade.reddit.com then a voucher. With 7 coal voucher you get a random game or coupon, but people interested in the drawing (every piece of coal you have on jan 2 gives you a chance to win every steam game) will trade games for your coal, ensuring you get a both a choice and a game.
Dec 22nd 2011 1:19AM I have a very odd situation, as I worked for them for a wile. I lost my previous account when I left and they deleted it, kinda screwing me out of the year of subscription I payed for.
Dec 21st 2011 11:14AM I was kinda shocked at how bad the F2P transition was. Returning to the game to find I would have to pay extra for all my characters (controllers or epic AT) was not a good surprise.
Dec 19th 2011 9:19PM @Space Cobra Pre-NGE SWG would might have had enough sandbox features to draw people from the theme park world of TOR, but I don't think the modern SWG would have been much competition for any mmo, especially the new kid. I honestly see SWTOR losing more potential clients to SWG due to name confusion (people hearing about a "SW MMO" and downloading the wrong game) then to honest "which game is better?" competition.
Dec 19th 2011 5:02PM @xenothaulus Love these kiddies that think halo was the first shooter, or the first space based shooter, or had original gameplay.
Dec 16th 2011 4:05PM @(Unverified) I read your comment and couldn't help but hear to the two bugs at the end "RAAAAIIIDDDD???!!!"
