The Queue: How much does a GM make? {WoW}

Jun 1st 2011 11:51AM Question for the Queue:

Has the drop rate for Volatile Life been stealth-nerfed? I'm finding it much harder to get these while herbing than in the past. I was herbing for a half hour the other day and I only got about 30 volatile life. Usually, I'd end up with double that amount, if not more. At one point, I went through seven straight nodes without a drop.

Thanks.

Patch 4.2 PTR patch notes updated for May 31 {WoW}

Jun 1st 2011 10:57AM The biggest problem I see is that as melee, we have a hard enough time competing with ranged for a lot of fights. I was happy that Arms was just starting to reach it's potential, and now we're getting a straight 8% nerf. This hurts a lot.

I'd like to see buffs to other melee so that we don't always have to struggle on these fights where there is so much movement or less time on the boss. If you check out http://stateofdps.com/, the top half of the DPS charts are all ranged DPS, with warriors and frost DKs right above the halfway point. The lower half of the DPS are ALL MELEE. Yet I see no buffs to Unholy, Kitty, Enhancement, Ret pallies and only minor buffs to Rogues.

tl;dr: The gigantic nerfs to warriors just doesn't make sense.

The Queue: The middle coast is the best coast {WoW}

May 31st 2011 3:55PM Question for the Queue:

Any idea when the Guild name change service will be implemented? As the GM of my guild, I would really like to change its name, but the only way to do that currently is to petition the GM.

Thanks.

Raid Rx: Throughput, regeneration and secondary stats {WoW}

Apr 19th 2011 11:12AM As a resto shammy, I have seen 2 trains of thought on the secondary stat stacking for healing, and both are effective - stacking haste/spirit and stacking mastery. The stacking of haste past the 916 threshold allows for quicker chain heals and snipe healing on raiders, although the effectiveness of each heal is less than a shaman who stacks mastery. Obviously, this type of healing has to focus on more spirit, as quicker throughput leads to more mana usage. Stacking mastery, on the other hand, allows for more effective heals but slower, especially on fights like chimaeron, which balances out the slower throughput. This will get a big boost when 4.1 hits, but it's pretty effective right now. Having a mix of these 2 healers is pretty nice, and I've seen it effectively used. I'm sure this can be related to the other healing specs as well.
