Ready Check: To Warsong or not to Warsong {WoW}

Mar 6th 2010 7:46PM Difference, not differents. The Men may want to learn to spell. Just saying...

Scattered Shots: Hunter set bonuses {WoW}

Mar 4th 2010 6:54PM As a rule MM Hunters will find Serpent sting being refreshed with every Chimera Shot, so unless you are target switching a lot, moving out of range etc then you should have close to 100% uptime on Serpent Sting.

Obviously BM and SV don't get the refresh with Chimera, so their uptime will be a little lower as SrS isn't high on the priority list (as you note) but its uptime should still, theoretically, be very high.

Scattered Shots: Hunter trinkets {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2010 4:22PM It is true that movement can really impact the value you gain from haste (can't steady shot while moving after all) but it isn't anywhere near worthless. As MM the single largest damage source in single target fights is still autoshot, and that benefits from haste. Managing your movement using stutter step tactics will help minimise the impact there. Also, on a boss fight, even one with target switching and movement I certainly don't find myself stopping my attacks long enough that it would cause the AP buff to drop off. Sure you have roughly 20 secs where the stacks are building, but after that in most boss fights that AP buff remains for the duration of the fight. For someone like me, who isn't anywhere near the ArP cap and is still running an Agi MM Build this trinket definitely seems to net a nice DPS boost, both on paper and in practice from what I've observed over the last couple of nights.

Naturally, for any given set of talents and gear YMMV.

Scattered Shots: Hunter trinkets {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2010 3:57PM I did some modelling with my own spec/gear on the Online DPS Calculator at, and the Herkuml trinket really seemed to be a massive upgrade. I realise that such tools will always tend to overvalue haste (due to haste being so adversely affected by movement etc) but it surprised me enough (and was big enough an upgrade) that I bit the bullet and spent the emblems. On paper it is a much bigger increase than anything else I'm likely to get any time soon (10 man raiding guild so any 25 man content is in the lap of the PuG Gods and my loot /rolls are notoriously bad).

Anecdoal observation does seem to bear out the value that the calculator placed on the trinket too, with me seeing a nice dps boost over the DMC:G that I replaced.

My biggest frustration at the moment is that the T9 2pc bonus is so attractive it is looking very much like it isn't worth my while breaking it to get the T10 4pc bonus - at least not until I'm in Sanctified T10, which may be quite a while...

Great article though Frost (again). :)
