Apr 27th 2010 1:36PM This is realy disappointing. They're doing this just to get more players raiding so they can make more money.
I hated the idea of heroic modes in TBC, then the transition to heroic raids in Wrath. Blizz is just selling out.
Remember the days when there was only 1-2 guilds doing Naxx (vanilla). Now you have hordes of guilds doing end game, which is good, but it fills the game with terrible, rude, careless players like... xbox live?
In my opinion they should keep the 10-25 man concept they have now, but drop the heroic modes. Just bump up the difficulty a bit. That way 25man is still very challenging, but more casual players can still see the content in 10 man.
But I do like the idea of multiple raids a week. Say, 3-4 raids with 5-6 bosses each, much better then clearing one long raid.
Side note. I REALLY REALLY MISS 40man raids. Even though there were a pain and made things a little difficult, it still really made WoW feel like a MASSIVELY-MULTIPLAYER game. Srsly, most FPSs have 25 people games. 40man (or up) feels right.
