Breakfast Topic: How would you redesign the old character models? {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 1:08PM Wawi gave a picture of the fat male model, but here's a better picture of the fat male and female Human models from the ModelViewer:

They like chips.

Breakfast Topic: How would you redesign the old character models? {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 8:38AM Last I checked, there are a set of "fat" (obese, actually) human models still in the WoW game files. I've never seen them used in the actual game (I'd guess they're left over from an old Vanilla beta build), but you can view them using WoW ModelViewer.

Might make you think twice about wanting overweight models...

Breakfast Topic: How would you redesign the old character models? {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 8:20AM I really like the appearance and body proportions of my female Night Elf, but like others here, I would appreciate higher-resolution textures and more detail. Namely, an actual mouth cavity and teeth would be nice.

And of course more hairstyles and extra options, like earrings and the ability to choose tattoo color independently of the hair color would be cool to have.

Overall, I think female Night Elves are by far one of the better-off Vanilla race models. I'd really like to see just extra detail and options for them, instead of a ground-up rework with a different body shape (please, please, PLEASE don't turn my beloved character into a purple Blood Elf, Blizzard).

The Queue: Look at me, Drek'thar {WoW}

Nov 4th 2011 11:23AM There are globes in-game that show the relative positions of the known continents on Azeroth, so no attempt to work this information out indirectly would be necessary.

The time in-game is just one of many examples of simplification to benefit gameplay. Imagine trying to schedule a raid in a game world with time zones....

BlizzCon 2011: Mega Bloks Thrall figure and more {WoW}

Oct 19th 2011 4:18PM I was a massive LEGO collector as a kid, and as such, I received quite a few Mega-Blocks kits from well-meaning but misinformed friends and relatives. I can confirm that Mega Blocks have indeed made a variety of original kits. I've been out of the game for a while so I don't know what their current product lines are, but 15-20 years ago there were many Mega-Blocks products that were not tie-ins of any kind.

The Daily Quest: It's a quest! {WoW}

Oct 3rd 2011 10:17PM Am I the only one who read that bit to the tune of "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast?

Patch 4.2: Avengers of Hyjal reputation rings {WoW}

May 14th 2011 1:03AM And the comment system strikes again. Thought that was getting fixed at some point....

Patch 4.2: Avengers of Hyjal reputation rings {WoW}

May 14th 2011 1:02AM I find it very interesting that while the Ashen Verdict rings were unique, these rings are unique-equipped. Depending on how players obtain these rings, this could suggest that it would be possible to obtain more than one of these rings, possibly even two of the same type.

This is pure speculation at this point, but as a dual PvE specced feral-feral; I would be very happy if this proved to be the case.

Gold Capped: How to profit from every single new patch {WoW}

May 13th 2011 2:22PM Metas do tend to drop off a while after a patch comes out, but if you can be prepared to supply the initial jump in demand, you can do real well off them. Just have a lot of uncut metas ready, and keep a supply of the popular cuts (especially the world drop designs) posted. Even after the initial demand surge drops off, metas are a good way to make money, and are a market a lot of people seem to overlook.

WoW Insider's Weekly Webcomic: Safe Passage {WoW}

May 11th 2011 9:37AM Yes, Night Elves have fangs, that's what I said.

I believe Draenei also have fangs, or at least sharp canines.
