Dec 25th 2011 5:10PM If the "Ll" is pronounced the welsh way*, "Llane" would be pronounce something along the lines of "Chlane" or "Chla-nay" where the "Chl" sounds a bit like the "Cl" as in "Clan" but from the back of the throat, almost like you're trying to cough up some phlegm on the "h".
That said, "Lane" is probably the correct pronunciation, but I always like Welshing it up whenever double l's or double d's (which sound like f's) arise.
*Note: Not a Welsh speaker, but I've been living here for the past 4 years, and visiting family here 2-3 times a year for almost 20 years before that. (And travelled on many trains which stop at "Llanelli" :P)
I'll probably have got the description of pronunciation wrong, but that's as close as I can think of to describe it textually.
Oct 26th 2011 2:11PM For the single one-hander problem, perhaps a spec ability along the lines of:
"When wielding a one-handed weapon, if there is no item in the other hand, stats gained from that weapon are increased by X%."?
Sep 30th 2011 4:30AM I think I'd prefer something along the lines of "You can roll for loot up to X times per week per boss, but as soon as you win an item (with a need roll) from that boss, you automatically pass all further loot."
Jul 25th 2011 9:39AM Every axe full stop, or just every model? Either way, as a fellow troll (and axe) junkie, I salute your efforts!
Apr 7th 2011 8:58AM My only qualm with the system they're setting up is that you have to queue solo. I enjoy playing my tank with my girlfriends healer; we play those characters exclusively together, having a small army of alts for solo play. So now I'm faced with the choice of foregoing the chance of mounts and pets for my tank, or breaking off from playing my tank with my girlfriend.
If you remained eligable for the reward when only queueing with 2 or less people, I would be happier.
Dec 24th 2010 7:26AM Something I've been looking for is a nice combination of Ratingbuster and DrDamage; just pick one or two abilities to look at, and in addition to the Ratingbuster summary on the tooltip, you get an extra line or two saying how much dps you'd gain to the skill(s) selected.
Just something to make it easier to decide between item A with say, 300 in each of your top 3 ratings, item B with 500 in your second and third ratings, or item C with 750 in your top rating, in addition to varying amounts of primary stats.
If I had a handle on Lua, I'd try to make something along those lines myself, but I've no idea where to start. So if anyone knows if there's anything along those lines already out there, point it at me :)
Aug 14th 2010 9:01AM Tauren are one of the Horde races I've had the most trouble wanting to play; I don't know why, I _want_ to like them, but I've never been able to level them much past 10.
On a similar note, the same thing applies to Paladins, so hopefully, once Cataclysm hits the merging of the two will (through some magical alchemical reaction) make me level them further then I have ever leveled them before!
For the interested, the other Horde race I have trouble playing are the Orcs. Again, no idea why, it just never clicked for me. As for classes, hopefully Troll Druids will help me level one to the point that the fun stuff starts in earnest, my planned goblin is going to be a Mage, and then I just need to decide what race to make a rogue (and whether or not to make him now as an extra diversion before Cata, or after it drops) in order to have a full set of classes.
Feb 28th 2010 11:49AM I'd love to see some of the old huge instances retweaked to maybe be like the new Icecrown 5-mans; break up the huge ones like Maraudon and Blackrock into 2 or three smaller ones, with a small quest to unlock each one in the chain.
Makes a lot more sense to go into 3 seperate BRD instances for the Kill on Sight quest chain, rather then running the whole thing 3 or more times.
