Mar 16th 2010 5:55PM I have nothing against old people. Age has nothing to do with someone playing wow. Who I don't want playing WoW is somebody, regardless of how old they are, with slow reflexes and the inability to process information and react at a reasonable speed. They wouldn't even have fun for the most part. If every time they joined a BG and it took them 3 seconds to process what they were seeing, who was there, how to counter it, and everything else they would be dead. The average person, not even someone exceptional can walk into a area, recognize who is there and think of a way to react in under a second. The game wasn't designed for people with slow reflexes. My dad is 55 and plays counter-strike:source still. He will probably continue to play until he no longer has the ability to react to the game. Luckily people who keep playing games tend to keep their reactions high and just like anything else, a lot of it is repetition. But there is always a point when your mind is just unable to handle all the information coming in.
Mar 16th 2010 5:17PM Lol everyone bags on me for just saying that they shouldn't change the game for a minority? Ok make the game easier for them. But a 70 year old who just doesn't have the reflexes of 30 or 40 year old is never gonna be able to compete. It's fact. This game is based on fast reactions and environmental awareness. It said in the article that he even has to stop at times to take in the scene and understand what is going on. He can play wow all he wants. He can quest and have fun. But what I'm saying is blizzard shouldn't make the game where a 75 year old man with no reflexes is able to raid and pvp, in the sense that they get rid of fast reaction of the game. If it was all about strategy then it would be a turn based game. RTS games are more strategy but even in them a 70 year old can't compete with a 20 year old with 300 apm. Face it, this game was never designed for a 75 year old man. If he plays it and has fun that is great. But 75 year old men with slow reflexes was never in the WoW demographic. Blizzard may never have officially stated their target market, but I guaruntee they had a good idea of who they were aiming for when they made this game. You can't just make a game without knowing who you are targeting. No product can.
Mar 16th 2010 1:24PM Designing a game for older people sounds retarded. I'm sorry but when you make a product you have a demographic, or a target market. WoW does NOT need to be for everyone. Your gonna fuck over the 7 million other players just so you can make a few old people happy. Sorry but maybe he should go play myst or some kind of thinking game if that's what he wants. WoW was not directed or marketed towards him. It does not appeal to his generation at all. A few old people like the game and want to play it, great for them. But blizzard better NEVER have the idea of changing anything for them.
Mar 15th 2010 1:22PM I wish I could join a RP server and actually make a goblin and allign myself with deathwing. Isn't deathwings armor made up of a metal plate or something that are replaced by a bunch of goblin servants? Would be so badass to be part of his entourage.
Mar 15th 2010 12:37PM Now as much as i HATE gnomes. Well done video. :( stupid gnomes...lol
Mar 12th 2010 12:30PM AH! i meant to reply. Im on page 4 now :P /fix?
Mar 12th 2010 12:28PM Ill go look when i get home from work. :P but truth is I think we are doomed. If you have ever seen attack of the show then you understand even the "famous" commentators or hosts or whatever still fail compared to the quality you get on almost anything else. Apparently being a nerd dooms you to be fail at hosting events and trying to be funny. I dunno, maybe I'm just a pessimist. :P
Mar 11th 2010 2:35PM I not sure but I am on the fence about a new commentator. I dunno why but Vin Diesel is looking good in my mind. :P I heard that he plays WoW too. Would be interesting. haha
Mar 5th 2010 6:24PM lol. its a good thing someone is a writer and not a mathematician.
