Oct 29th 2011 3:45PM will there be a swotor insider?
Apr 15th 2011 1:40PM So I went to best buy to get a new game for the pc world of warcraft had been out for three months but honestly I hadn't even considered it, even though I was a big fan of everything blizz had done to date.
Standing in the pc game isle a man in a wheel chair rolled up to get a game book for wow and he asked me if I played, I replied, " no is it good?" and then this man who was completly paralized from the waist down preceded to tell me how world of warcraft changed his life and allowed him to be social and cope with his loss.
I figured, if a man that can't feel his legs or use his penis is telling me something changed his life I better damn well listen! needless to say 6 years and 511 /played later my wife and I are still playing and I hope that poor soul is too.
I mean how many developers can say, "we made a game so good that after you start playing you wont need your legs or a penis ever again!" I think we all know the answer to that!
So yea RIFT is neat, Age of conan has boobies, SWOTOR has Gorge lucas and Bioware, but I have sneaking suspicion that after a few months your really gonna start missing your penis. :P
Apr 2nd 2011 4:34PM I really love the Lunar series I even have the Gallion punching puppet :P
Apr 1st 2011 1:44PM I really don't feel that these areas are broken but I have a suggestion on how to improve these areas.
1. Get rid of any non-epic quest chains off the main story.
2. Further adjust xp and achivments so that players can complete all the zones or at least half of them in the time it takes to get from 58-70 this is is important because players are missing out on netherstorm and/or shadowmoon valley two of the most epic zones in outland.
The changes need very little effort really, but right now players can get to wrath before they even finish zangermarshe so you have half a dozen completly empty useless zones. The change to xp that was made is actually what makes it so boring!
Blizzard doesn't need to rewrite the quests just assign one guy to getting rid of 75% of the lame non-essential quests and bam people will get to go to all of the zones before they hit wrath adding some consistency to the leveling experience.
Mar 13th 2011 3:28PM All of ulduar, Everything in ulduar was such an epic scale. I hated when we discovered we could just burn down flame leviathan before that being launched up to the top of FL was such an amazingly heroic experience.
Maybe I am just a throwback from old Mario days but I would love to see more platforming in wow.
When people learn to find ways to use their enviroment to their advantage in war players should be rewarded but instead blizz punishes us I belive this is a design flaw, If someone works out a way to sneak into a major city and kill someone from the rooftops this should't be met with instant roof gaurds.
I mean sure it makes sense to have roof gaurds but to have an instant kill buff put on you for being agile and ingenious just seems like a backwords idea not inline with the whole "Warcraft" thing.
Mar 3rd 2011 10:02AM I am fury and prot right now and I need both of those for raids, I want a pvp spec badly.
I think it is pretty redicules to think that having specs like bank tabs would do anything but be fun.
Look at RIFT each class has 22 soul trees and you can swap them anytime you want (out of combat of course) It is one of the best aspects of the game and hurts nothing.
I just wish blizz could adapt better and controle less, they are the masters of having great ideas that they only go part way with.
Feb 25th 2011 2:48PM Oh hi I am an 11 year old who is smart enough to doop 100s of people out of their gold and just log off, I know your a real person and I don't care I just want to steal from you.
Im not sure I know of a worse hell than putting up with a spoiled pre-teen sociopath whos parents didn't take the time to teach them positive reinforcment and consequences.
The real issue here remorsfull is that you wasted a lot of your time when you coulda just reported the brat, I can promise you that all you did was make that kid more vindictive he probably reported you for spam and got his little freinds to help.
One of the keys to being a good authority figure? DO NOT work harder than the child to teach them anything. Positive reinforcment is so successfull because the "childs" actions are creating a reaction than results in a desire to repeat that behavior.
Are you really so dense you think he did not know how to put you on ignore? That attention starved little rodent was eating up everything you said he probably screen shotted your rage so he could show his freinds and laugh at you later why?
Because pre-teens are inherently evil! Spoiled pre-teens are so vindictive its scary, they go out of their way to hurt people, they lie non stop, major theft, battery, and sex crimes of preteens is out pacing older juvenile crime 2-1!
So should you feel bad for hurting that kids feelings? Ha the fact that you think you did is laughable, the kid is probably at a "rainbow party" right now making fun of you.
Should you feel bad that you acted like a little kid yourself and wasted a ton of time over a set of worthless virtual glasses that are even worthless in their virtual world of worthlessness? Yes, and yes you should be very much ashamed.
Feb 12th 2011 1:22PM The reason you don't need healing assignments is because the majority of healing mods if setup correctly will show the user all incomming heals to that target before they land. Also Vuhdo actually shows the strength of shields on a target. All of the mods show hot timers as well but I prefer to allow the incomming heal visual for this as well.
Grid, Vuhdo, Healbot, Pearl all have this feature (though vuhdo has the fastest communication time currently, differences are in fractions of ms between them however)
In current content tanks are at risk for being destroyed at almost any moment and this is added to an amazing amount of constant raid damage and a super weak mana pool.
Thus the only solution is to have all healers prioritize tanks, other healers, and then dps as mana allows. (thank god for lightwell and its 30 yard click range!)
I know there are healers who are purists who refuse to use mods, the reality of this situation is you have less battle intel and your heals take an extra 50ms+ to get through than an equal player using one do to blizzards lazy UI and raid frames design.
There is a fine line between being a purist and just being stubborn, ignorant, or behind the times to give some the benefit of the doubt. Healing assignments were born out of 40 mans when each healer would be assigned a group and then in 25 mans when they became roll based and now they are done away all together as healer mana pools and software technology has allowed for a new adaptive and visceral design.
In closing I just want to steer people toward Vuhdo and its amazing design and HD guides to setup, the designer of Vuhdo created it for his wife and put his heart and soul into it to help take the woman he loves to the next level and give her a streamlined and accurate display that would give her purist heart the function she truly desired.
As an added bonus you purists can bind your F-keys to something actually usefull now!
