Jun 17th 2010 1:19AM That was meant to be 5.5k. Lol obviously anything less than 5k is just not gonna make it in heroics. And the fact that every single person that reads this comment must agree with that latter statement just proves that GS is at least a great addon.
Jun 17th 2010 1:17AM It's not just time that it saves, it's hassle.
I don't care how well you know your rotation, how many times you've run ICC, if your gearscore is low, so will be your dps. Even if you play optimally, sometimes you just know that a person with 4.7k gearscore will not be able to exceed 5k dps on Festergut, for example, no matter how hard they try. Try doing ICC heroics (even on 10 man) with a raid full of gs less than 5k. It may happen, but it sure will be tuff I wager.
Jun 3rd 2010 4:38PM Clothies are always high on my list, unless there is a melee heavy attack such as a WW or something. If you run with good dps that avoid and are able to use their damage reduction or health increasing abilities it changes the game entirely, though. You get to know classes based on their abilities, strengths and weaknesses. That, in conjunction with solid knowledge of the encounters leads to the best decision making.
Sticking to lead heals' assignments helps too! lawl
Jun 3rd 2010 4:22PM Just to reiterate 'cause it's kind of buried in a reply, the Abom must be killed by either the initial damage from the sword or the DoT the sword applies.
The article suggests to dps down the Abom as fast as possible if the sword doesn't kill it. This is a tad misleading as That Guy pointed out. The caveat to the article's strategy is that you DON'T want any of your party members to get the killing blow.
If the sword doesn't kill it, make sure no one uses dots, just direct damage and pull back when the Abom is low on health and let the DoT kill it. Ideally you want to have your target frame to show actual health (rather than percentage) and look at how much the DoT does per second to time it well.
