May 26th 2010 5:56AM With us it was the opposite (similiar to a posted earlier), we had a huge push to try and kill lichy before the increased buff.
As it happens he went down on the last try of the evening, after not getting much into phase three the whole evening.
Mar 8th 2010 9:06AM Of course math lies. Or to be more precise, math can be incorrectly used to come to fallacious conclusions.
Have you never heard the term 'Lies, damned lies and statistics?' or my favourite example 'one third of all road accidents are caused by drunk drivers; therefore let us ban sober drivers from the road'
Being more specific DPS is not a set number, as has been argued by some people on the wow forums many times. Is that simcrafted DPS?, dps against a dummy? against a patchwerk fight? A movement heavy fight? An adds fight? Or one of the many other combinations of factors that are in our boss fights?
I'm not a mage, I haven't looked at the numbers; and its possible, even probable from this discussion that arcane beats all specs in dps in all situations. That isn't my point.
My point is that 'Math doesn't lie' is a bad argument. It lies all the time, and need to be very carefully considered before being used for accurate conclusions.
