Jul 1st 2010 9:23PM It looks like healers are becoming more like the "active support" role rather than just simply being a healbot. I'm looking forward to being able to really help out my allies rather than just staying back and just spamming holy light all day.
Jun 22nd 2010 8:47PM I can't log in due to login servers being clogged or something. Let's hope its just that and not my account being hacked.
Jun 7th 2010 1:14PM If you want to be a better healer, try dps. If you want to be a better dps, try tanking. If you want to be a better tank, try healing.
If you want to be a better player? Do all three.
I have a pally who can heal/tank, a shaman who can raid heal/ranged dps, and a dk who can tank/melee dps. I did all three roles so that I can better myself as a player.
Healing demands a more situational awareness more than a Tank can. Not only does the healer have to moniter his/her allies' health but also make sure that the healer's own health and safety is secured.
Dps hardly ever watch their threat. Why should they? Well, if you sap off threat from the tank, your as good as dead and dead dps is no dps. As a tank, you have to make sure all eyes are on you and not on anyone else. Dps who mindlessly spam makes the tank's job that much harder (or easier.)
When I was on my healadin, I was asked by a tank friend of mine to heal through Heroic UK with three fresh 80s. Should be simple, right? We reach the first boss with no trouble at all, but that's where the problems begin. The boss was hardly getting damaged and I was running out of mana. We wiped soon after. I don't really care about how high your dps is, but if you aren't pulling your weight, the healer starts to feel the strain, and everyone loses.
Tl:dr - Cross training will better yourself as a player, whatever your role may be.
Jun 6th 2010 9:44PM Blizz can take all the time they need. It'll make the expansion all the more sweeter.
May 14th 2010 2:35PM If there are any raid leaders out there, please do not be afraid to pug other players. I have to join a lot of pugs for either the weekly raid or whenever a raid needs a tank healer (I play a holy palladin.) As the article pointed out, no one is above pugging, and some pug may surpirse you. I was in a pug with people who were from diffferent gulilds and we just DEVISATED the first part of icc. The best part of it all? This wasn't some pug who were caught up in gear score bullshit or achevment crap, these were people who just wanted to enjoy the game and wanted to give icc a shot.
So to all raid leaders out there, if you need to pug, then pug. You'd be surpirsed what you can find.
Apr 21st 2010 10:15PM Its only a matter of time until they do paladins. I am so waiting for that.
