Ghostcrawler explains spec-specific quest rewards in MoP {WoW}

Mar 29th 2012 11:37PM As a healer, I hate this idea. I've leveled a Resto druid, Holy Pally, Disc Priest and Resto Shaman. Only the Pally was leveled as holy. All of the others used a DPS spec to level. What this tells me is that I will be given DPS gear until I hit max level, then I have to go pay for gear to do my preferred job. I do NOT like that. Why should healers have to pay to perform their preferred role when everyone else has their gear handed to them?

In addition, if I get a drop that is a minimal upgrade on my mage, but there is a 25 gold Agility Axe available, I'm taking the vendor loot. Under this system, not only is that not an option, but I'm stuck with a 2 gold belt that's not really an upgrade. Kind of sucks for healers and clothies.

So if this is bad for 2 large populaces, how can it be left like this?

Does Garrosh Hellscream deserve to die? {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2012 2:57PM Here is my TFH wild-speculation theory:

Garrosh starts feeling pressure due to the war against the Alliance. He picked up a lot of territory in Cataclysm, but that just pissed off some very powerful Alliance characters that formerly sought peace (Jaina for example.) Now, the Alliance is bearing down on him, and he feels he cannot let the horde down. He has too much pride to fail.

So he seeks help and power in the same manner that his father had achieved it. He starts drinking demon blood and becomes a savage war machine. He begins to do things that know one thought him capable of before, much of it horrific, even to the other members of the horde.

Because of his ties to the demons, he now has a connection to Illidian (we were told Illidian would be back) and then on to Sargeras. We HAVE to kill him to keep him from bringing Sargeras here. His death doesn't stop it, though.

And Sargeras and the continuation of the Outland story line is our next expansion after MoP!

Breakfast Topic: Were you impressed with the Mists of Pandaria press event? {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2012 10:25AM I was disappointed because it really didn't feel like that much new information. We learned virtually everything the "announced" at Blizzcon. The only new info was the female model and that Garrosh is gonna die. That could have been a blue post... what was the need for a week long press conference and NDA when a blue post could have given the same info?

Mists of Pandaria: Dave "Fargo" Kosak interview {WoW}

Mar 19th 2012 6:37PM I started playing SW:TOR this weekend, and OMG was questing PAINFUL! Every quest you were met with a voice acted character who wanted you to answer 4-10 multiple choice questions before you could accept the quest and then again before you could turn it in. Sure, the story is interesting, but I played for 10 hours and only got to level 13. I felt like 6 hours was spent listening to NPCs, 2 hours running from point A all the way to point B over on the other side of the planet and 2 hours actually killing stuff... I want to kill stuff. So, 80% of my time was wasted as far as I'm concerned. WoW's way of doing it suits me much better.

Breakfast Topic: What class will you never play? {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 8:40AM Any of the melee classes. I got a rogue to 60 using RaF, but she was on follow the whole time. Ended up deleting her 2 years later because I'd never logged into her that whole time. I've never even started a Warrior. I've started and deleted 4 DKs.

I guess I also have problems with DoT classes, as the highest I've ever gotten a priest is 51 and a lock to mid-20s.

But I've got 4 mages on 3 different servers, 3 druids on 2 different servers, a hunter, a Paladin (who I literally leveled as a Shockadin so I didn't have to melee) and a Shaman all at max level.

Is PvP gear good enough for heroics? {WoW}

Mar 5th 2012 5:29PM I levelled a mage and hit 85. I went to the AH, bought all the PVP gear available and promptly queued for HoT heroics. I was almost always 1st in DPS on those heroics, and occasionally 2nd, but never lower. I reforged as much as I could to get to 7% hit, so I wasn't getting misses against the bosses, and I did just fine with PVP gear. I got some PVE gear and got to 12% hit and figured "good enough" so I went into LFR and got 9th on DPS.

I was putting up decent numbers, and I know that with proper gear I could have been doing better, but my point is that as a DPS'er, PVP gear is good enough. Gem it, enchant it and reforge it, and hit some HoTs. I was middle of the pack in LFR, with 80% PVP gear, so "yes" PVP gear can be acceptable as a DPS "IF" you play well and reforge where necessary.

Blue Posts: Even more MoP talent clarifications {WoW}

Feb 18th 2012 2:03PM I think the only reason this one got so annoying was that you guys had been running the Zarhym gag for a few days now, so perhaps it wasn't a great idea to run another Zarhym gag header on an article that was gonna have the same header for a week.

Feb 17th 2012 10:01PM Is it just me or has that header image been used 7,573 times in the past couple weeks. It's getting a tad old.
